*****Who wants a $1000 INTEL CPU FREE? - COMPETITION TIME!!*****

Speaking of which, any idea how long it will take to judge the entries and pick a winner? I don't think I've got the CPU, but may be in with a shot of an SSD, fingers crossed. And now its after the 23rd, can you tell us what the CPU actually is now? I've not been following CPUs too much recently, apart from Bulldozer :x

I reckon, from personal judging of the photos, that there's a 1 in 6 chance of winning the CPU, all depends on what gibbo judges them on/gets the most votes from the ocuk insiders

The CPU is the i7 990X, worth £869 on the ocuk site  For prize worth / entry quantity it's well worth the entry, can't see why so many complained about facebook/twitter at the start.

Ooh, very nice indeed! Hope it comes with free shipping!
Only downside would be that if I win, I'd need a serious PC upgrade! New mobo, mabe ram... and a better graphics card otherwise that would just be a bottleneck. My wallet hopes I don't win now XD

Same here, see spec in sig!

Infact, I think this should be judged taking into consideration what the entrants current rig is so those more in need of the upgrade are given priority :D :D

I wish!

Roll on Monday anyway!

My only downside is that i would'nt ever be able to keep it :( It'd be used for resale value so that i can pay off a large chunk of debt....once that debt had gone though i'd be getting a new PC, so swings and roundabouts :p

i agree that mikes was very impressive..and would have been hard to beat...but a cut off point has to be the cut off point.....even if you did it 3 weeks ago, and didnt upload it till after the deadline.....its null and void......unless ocuk see differently......

anyway....good luck to all entrants.....

Sounded like some people were trolling so hard that they almost loled. Anyway there did seem to be a lot of fuss over a couple of facebook/twitter accounts......

If I had entered and won, the cash lump sum from quickly selling it would have been too tempting :)
Nah I'd keep it. My i7 920 is a bit of a dud in the greater scheme of things (needs a hefty voltage increase to reach 4 GHz so I run it at 3.8 GHz usually). Wishful thinking though, I bet I'd have been in the running if I got to do my original plan. :)

That's the thing with the photoshop ones, not a lot of effort needs to go in to them as they can be pictures taken from the net or ones of things you've already done. I had to go around logging in 90 (93 to be exact) PCs to take mine! Sod if im in it or not! (though it wouldn't have been too difficult for me to have been in it)

That depends how good you are at photoshop. If you don't really work in IT or have any advanced photography skills, photoshop is not as easy as everyone makes out.
