Who with a 8800 series is getting R600?

Thats the whole point..

The idea is not to make a huge financial loss.Thats the reason behind it.

How are you working that out exactly? At launch 8800GTX was £450 and now you will be lucky to sell for £350 even now. R600 will probably also cost around £450 or more considering it is ment to have 1GB of memory so right there is a £200 loss or do you exclude the price you originally paid for the card? lol

ROTFL :D

Oh tell me enlightened one...

How do you know?

Well for one your already quaking in your boots and thinking of selling up tells stories, but we'll see you wont be able to make your decision until benchmarks come and thats going to leave little time to sell your G80.

Good arguement.. enjoy your £200 loss for a card you don't even know anything about yet. And if you wait for results first you will lose more.. I understand quite well thanks..

I didn't launch a personal attack so don't play that card, have your roll eyes back i don't deserve them, your the one that started being a fool when i made the post about the press samples as usual winding people up. ;)

LMAO,

Why are you so concerned on how much I lose?

It will not be 200 thats a fact :D

Anyway I might not even go R600 yet if the power requirements are right.

By the looks of things it looks nasty.

The 8800s are good enough at the moment, there is really no point to upgrade from these cards, unless its just to enhance yir virtual penis size :P

One thing though... If nVidia doesnt get their finger out and release decent drivers for vista then that could be a good enough reason for people to jump ship, going by the leaked driver efforts... nVidia are sucking ;)

Few weeks things will become a lot more clearer, from what we know so far the G80 dosnt stand a chance.

Even if the G80 "doesn't stand a chance" (which I don't know how you've come to that conclusion. Point me to a benchmark out now?) nVidia have the refresh cards waiting in the wings for the R600 don't forget.

This is the way I see it unfolding:-

1. R600 is released and everyone goes "look, see it beats the G80 in SOME things haha I bet you wish you had all waited".

2. nVidia goes, "fair enough... oh look here's our refresher cards. Wh00p!"

3. Refresher cards take back the lead in most games.

4. Everyone at ATi crys because their card which was delivered so late and costing quite a bit has just been beaten. :p

Obviously the above is light hearted so please don't take it too seriously!

How can i point you to a benchmark when there isnt any I said based on what we know so far such as specifications etc. All these new cards and competition is great for the consumer so id be more than happy if nvdias refresher w00ped it and if it was cheaper id obviously go for that.

Ah I see, no that's ok, but specifications don't really mean much. We need good drivers as well. ;)

Anyway based on how well the 8800GTX is performing with Crysis at the moment and thats pre-alpha!, and how well its performing in DX9 i might just take advangtage of the price drops when the refresher and r600 come, and get myself one of those.

I just dont know but what I can say is i wouldnt recommened anyone buys G80 now and wait and see what ATi can pull out the hat.
