That's a laugh I can't even understand what you mean now.Shocky-FM said:No it wasted it was after id already replied to somebody else explaining what I meant.
Shocky-FM said:But almost all sites were selling them for around £450 and some higher, some of the largely unknown brands were a little less but most were around £450 and some higher. Anyone who bought one on launch knows what they were selling for so theres no point pretending they were selling for less.
I know OCUK was upto £450 but I don't shop here, I'd list all the sites that were selling it for 450+ on launch but considering where we are thats not going to happen.
fornowagain said:They were selling for less, mine was well short of £450 for a top brand. OcUK had good stock of the BFG, prices changed a bit during the day £487>£493>£500, finally settled at £493. I think from memory, they were the only retailer to not go out of stock since release.

After you clamined poeple were pretending that the prices were lower.
I correct you, that should have been the end of it.
No, again you obfuscate. My assertion was that your initial singular comment that a 8800GTX was £450 on release was wholly inaccurate and remains the case. But thanks for calling me stupid again.Shocky-FM said:Again pretty obviously I was refering to average price, you would have to be pretty stupid to think I meant all 8800GTX cost exactly £450.. But it seems some of you are that stupid and petty..

Shocky-FM said:So did you actually believe I was saying all 8800GTX cost exactly £450 or were you just responding because you’re petty and argumentative? If not what exactly did you think I was saying?
Yes of course they were all one price, isnt that how it works, I'm shockedShocky-FM said:So did you actually believe I was saying all 8800GTX cost exactly £450 or were you just responding because you’re petty and argumentative? If not what exactly did you think I was saying?

Its the latest card.
People want to upgrade to the latest tech
Just because you think its a waste of money does not mean it is.
In my view keeping a GTX to long and losing a lot on it is a waste of money.
I would rather sell the GTX move on to pastures new for a nominal outlay.
Meaning I have had value out of the card.
Not leaving it 3 months too late and having to sell it in MM for 150 quid.
Shocky-FM said:Don't start, there are no games out that remotely stress the 8800GTX..
and the DX10 games are still along way from release and you have no idea how 8800GTX performance will compare to R600 in DX10 games and you wont knew until well after R600 launch,. ..
And your financial reason is total BS, you've just twisted it round in your own mind to justify to yourself these upgrades and I think you actually believe it now..
Gerard said:I think upgrading for the sake of it is a phase a lot of people (including myself) go through before finally it gets boring and stupid.
Hardware prices are getting utterly retarded and upgrading is just getting to be a joke. Who woulda thought 2 or 3 years back that regular motherboards would be hiked upto £200+ just for some bs "zomg it overclocks more" claim?
I really wish id stuck to my p4 3.2@4ghz which gave me no trouble whatsoever, this pos dfi board cost £175 and is by far one of the biggest piles of horse**** ive ever had the displeasure of owning. Unfortunately i fell for the hype of amd's being so much faster in gaming at the time, ended up getting a dual core opteron, clocked it to 2.7ghz and in gaming terms i see no improvement over the p4.
fornowagain said:Yes of course they were all one price, isnt that how it works, I'm shocked![]()
I was responding because you made a general statement that was pitched too high. Simple as that, a top brand didn't cost close to £450. I tried to tell you politely, you get motivated and insulted me. End of.
Dave2150 said:A duel core opteron @ 2.7Ghz annihilates a pathetic P4. No contest.
You're not listening. You said the cards were £450, I said they weren't.Shocky-FM said:Top brand? pitched to high? Point was your obviously not that stupid and didnt believe that I said that so all thats left is the average.. So you knew exactly what I ment to start with.
easyrider said:Its all about the res....Don't you know that?
R600 will be worth more hence the upgrade
I havent twisted anything around.
It basic economics.
You spend a little often.I can't believe you still don't get it.
