no offence to anyone who does this but if someone has a 8800 series and moves over to a R600 wen they come out its just greedy/pathetic and a waste of money... enjoy your +2FPS

Again pretty obviously I was refering to average price, you would have to be pretty stupid to think I meant all 8800GTX cost exactly £450.. But it seems some of you are that stupid and petty..

No, again you obfuscate. My assertion was that your initial singular comment that a 8800GTX was £450 on release was wholly inaccurate and remains the case. But thanks for calling me stupid again.

People want to upgrade to the latest tech

Just because you think its a waste of money does not mean it is.

In my view keeping a GTX to long and losing a lot on it is a waste of money.

I would rather sell the GTX move on to pastures new for a nominal outlay.

Meaning I have had value out of the card.

Not leaving it 3 months too late and having to sell it in MM for 150 quid.

I was responding because you made a general statement that was pitched too high. Simple as that, a top brand didn't cost close to £450. I tried to tell you politely, you get motivated and insulted me. End of.

Don't start, there are no games out that remotely stress the 8800GTX and the DX10 games are still along way from release and you have no idea how 8800GTX performance will compare to R600 in DX10 games and you wont knew until well after R600 launch,.

And your financial reason is total BS, you've just twisted it round in your own mind to justify to yourself these upgrades and I think you actually believe it now..

A duel core opteron @ 2.7Ghz annihilates a pathetic P4. No contest.

Funny thing is when stuff costs more you have to pay more so you kinda lose money in the process. and what about the resolution? 8800GTX is more then enough even for a 30" Dell.... When you explain how your little plan works you only count the difference between the what the your card sells for and what and the new card costs and completely ignore the price you originally paid for your card and how much its dropped in price since. Thats really clever isnt it..
