Who's getting a 7*** Series Card or Nvidia equivalent

Sticking with my 5850s for now, maybe upgrade in the summer if prices and performance are up to scratch.

Upgrade to a 6950 2GB cost me £90 from my 5850 1GB.

I wonder what it will be this time.

I'll get a 7950/70 as soon as the prices are close to the US ones (RRP x exchange rate + VAT).

Am really on the fence, I could do with an upgrade from my 460 though it runs 'well' but I think i'd rather wait for Nvidia's Keppler.

ATI are just so difficult, great hardware but not enough software behind them.

I plan on it. IMO nothing currently offered is a huge upgrade from my 5850 @ 1ghz other than a 580 which is pricey....hopefully next gen will offer awesomeness.

Well it regards your taste.

I have a q9550 @ 3.59 ghz a 5850 p35 ds3l 4 gb 1066mhz 5-5-5-15 1tb hdd and i'll leave it there.

If i can't play new games either on ultra high or high thats not above 25-30fps average it's time to upgrade for me.

I forsee that since i bought this pc during 2008 i had a e8400 upgraded to q9550 graphics card wise 4850 to 4870 5850, this will last me around end of 2013.

I will stay with the 5850 or i will have bottleneck problems with my q9550.

I will be. My HD6850 was only ever intended as a stop-gap to these cards. I almost dropped £200 on the OcUK GTX560Ti 2GB this week but stopped myself as these are just around the corner.

Will be the fastest card I can get into a 236mm long profile. That's all I have to play with. :D

I will be ditching my 6950 crossfire in favour of the 7 series, will see how well they perform first tho and whether a single 7 series can drive a 2560x1440 res with no issues.

You (we) better sell soon then or the depreciation on the cards will start when the leaks start coming through. Well if they are promising that is :). Thing is, if we sold our cards and performances were not as good, it would be a pain to decide what to buy next. This is only "If's", "but's" and "maybe's" though :). The new cards could be a lot more expensive and not change the pricing range of the Cayman and Barts cards. Who knows? (apart from DM's educated guesstimation :p (joke))

I'll be moving up to the 7 series if it's worth it but after listening to speakers at the AMD Fusion Summit 2011, I'm intrigued.

I'm starting to strain my 6850... Seems I need more power. Hopefully a 7870 or a 7950 depending on performance/price.

You got to be jokeing bf3 must be poorly optimized or unless it's vram issue.

Looks like bf3 will either run on high or medium without aa but af on or off.

Only thing is i can not be stuffed to upgrade just yet.

Well pfft.

Skyrim ran on high for me on my system just fine and did feel it was above 30 fps.

But this, if the graphics are better then skyrim i will let it pass.

Kind of in the same boat with me using a 5970. . .

Would be nice if a single 7 series can drive 2560x1440 res with no issues.

i havent upgraded any of my machine since jan / feb 2008, planning on getting new GPU shortly, i'll either be getting one of the new 7xxx series or getting one of the 6xxx series when they come down in price. Hoping i'll get another 3 and half years out of it so they better be good :) (i paid £340 for my EVGA 8800GTX, still plays bf3 on low settings with no lags )

all depends on 7850 price, That is card i will upgrade my 6850 to :P. I had 4850 and 3850.
I just like price/power on those x850 cards :D

It would really depend on how much extra performance they bring to the table. I have a GTX 580 and im very happy with it, so it'l take some epic performance to make me spend more £££ :D

Ive been holding out for a 7xxx since the end of November when my old card snuffed it. Don't think a 7950/70 is within my price range so il probably go for the 7870

Going to be nvidia for me, just can't imagine games without my nvidia 3d vision.

Stupid question here as i'm uninitiated: but why do you need Nvidia 3d vision for this? can't you just use a high-end video card with a 3d tv that uses active glasses?
