who's on chrome?

one thing that bugs me about firefox and chrome is they store the passwords so that anyone who has access to your pc can view them....

No don't get me wrong.... i know that they assume you will lock your account and only people who have access blah blah blah... and yes that is valid and sensible,,, but try saying to the misses when she says "can i just check my mail" ---"er hang on let me just log off and log you on"

Been using Chrome since it was first released. Definitely won't go back - both IE and FF look so clunky in comparison and Chrome wins hands down on most of the small things such as image resizing.

They've also updated the look of it in the latest build and looks even swisher on the Minimal theme. Stripping http:// from the address bar makes things look tidier too.

In Firefox, can't you tell it to require a master password (Tools -> Options -> Security -> Passwords - check the box saying "Use a master password")? Or are you thinking about the format it actually stores the passwords in on your hard drive?

Personally, once my Android mobile is upgraded to 2.2 (Froyo), I'll probably start using Chrome then, as it'll sync stuff nicely between my PC and my phone.

yeah but the master password was always a pain too, i just don't understand why either of them can't just store the password but not let you or anyone view it... have the master password on the 'view saved passwords screen' makes sense to me!!!

as for 2.2 on the desire, yeah that was why i switched, i have my bookmarks synced with chrome marks, and use chrome to phone a lot!

make a gold card and get 2.2 today!

Just say no when the browser asks then?

no i want it to save them, just don't like the idea of them being stored on the browser in a viewable format, it not a biggy, just wish they would add a password to view the saved passwords if that makes sense

Fair point mate.

I'm not gonna go for Froyo until it's official - having a working phone is too important to me, so I want to do it properly. My handset is a Samsung Galaxy S, so apparently it should get 2.2 within the next month or so... by then I will probably be a Chrome user.
