Firefox is my primary browser as I need Firebug, Web Developer Toolbar and Pixel Perfect. I also use Ad Block Plus and XMarks.

Although I always have Chrome running for Facebook, Google Mail, Google Reader and Twitter. It's JS Engine seems to outperform Firefox's by miles.

I think Chrome was updated today, it's got a subtle visual upgrade. It's very subtle but looks great. Also has some useful links on the home page tab, such as history, downloads and so on.

Mmm loving this new Chrome. Haven't been on it for months, have just switched to the dev release and it's excellent. Extremely quick and, of course, stable.

I used it for a while when it came out, then went back to Firefox as it had a load of extensions I used, then tried to go back to Chrome but extensions wouldn't install because of my user profile junction, not I'm back on Chrome and everything works perfectly :D

I trust the hardware graphics acceleration is enabled by default?

[Edit]
Just realised I'm on v6. It is a beta, but not v7. It feels extremely quick, did they introduce graphic hardware acceleration in v6, or will v7 be even faster? :D

I noticed there was something different when I started it today. Looks much nicer. And they've removed http:// which makes things neater.

Is this switched on by default? If not how to please :)

On the shortcut:
--enable-accelerated-compositing

Just got 7 installed. I quite like the side tabs, just a shame you can't adjust the width of the sidebar.

What people tend to forget about chrome is it's faster because it uses more resourced than either firefox, ie or opera. If you took the latest firefox beta then gave it chromes level of hardware use it would be very close speed wise.

Then again, if we're doing more and more in with our browsers it make sense for the browser to use more and increase speed which in turn makes you ask yourself why the competition hasn't increased its resource usage to keep up :)

I'll happily give any browser more resources to perform better. No point in my quad core & 8GB of RAM if my main programs aren't going to use the power!

You'll always get people complaining when the browser uses more though . As long as it scales accordingly, then there's no problem (i.e. use less RAM/CPU/GPU when there's less to use).

[Edit]
Is there any way to make Canary the default browser? Do I have to uninstall Chrome v6 and have Canary as my main install?

I haven't used Chrome [and never will, in it's default state] or it's variants for some time but I just downloaded Iron and it's going to be my browser of choice for at least a little while.

Far more responsive than Firefox and even my beloved Opera!

Well said, Craig. How I'd have put it. If it performs well, I'll gladly pass over resources for it. Resources are there to be used, after all.

Just trying Chrome again (v7), adblock seems to have improved a bit and from some benchmarks I did it seems to have caught up with Opera 10.62 on the speed front.

I quite like Opera but there have been a couple of sites where it doesn't seem to work properly (e.g. British Gas). Also google instant search seems to be unsupported.

The only reason why I don't use Chrome is because of the Bookmarks bar, I couldn't figure out how to make it look the same as my FF one. There probably is a way now, but I haven't tried Chrome in ages :p

Is there an extension or add on for these kind of bookmarks?

In chrome you can simply right click > edit & remove the name of the bookmark.

You can also pin tabs, which is brilliant :D

switched to chrome after 'not responding' issues with firefox, took a little getting used to but I can't see myself switching again anytime soon, chrome just feels snappier and lighter than other browsers for me atm. Always liked the design choice of having the tabs in the title bar too :).
