I see everyone talking about 25% performance increase, am I missing a review somewhere? Where is this figure coming from?

if its 25% then Jensen and his leather jacket can jump off a cliff if he think I am paying £1000 extra for DLSS4 and 25% raster.
There was a 3DMark leak somewhere, it was ~ 30% higher in score than the 4090

I'm on the fence for now. 50 series looks a bit disappointing so far. I was planning on a 5090 up to £1800. Unless the reviews are better than expected I can't justify more than that. Don't like giving the government money either so £300+ in VAT isn't helping. Weak £ isn't helping either and I can see that getting worse before the cards are released.

I need a GPU for a new system I'm putting together, so it's likely going to be either RDNA 4 or a used 40 card. Whichever way I go, I won't be doing anything until proper review benchmarks are published.

It will be interesting to see the reviews to be fair. I had my 4090 up for sale, taken it off now.

Will probably keep my 3070 another generation. Maybe the 6 series will tempt me.

GPU's are too expensive to replace every generation and I don't really use it enough to justify it.

I have a 3070 too. Can only play 4k 60fps with most things cranked down, so looking to upgrade to a 5070Ti or 5080 but yeh they're so expensive!

Or you could go from 4K to 1440p monitor. Or perhaps buy a second monitor, a 1440p for gaming, using the 4K for video editing or games where the 3070 is still ok.

I play on a 4k projector with full dolby atmos setup (upgraded from 1080p) so single player games are a lot of fun on there. It would be awesome to play everything on high settings!

From a game only perspective, i personally think that anyone with a 4090 should be waiting for reviews as remember we are all getting DLSS 4 (apart from MFG) and FG which Nvidia have already said will be getting performance bump..

And from a raster PoV if its only a 25-30% performance uplift then it all depends on a personal level if that is enough justification for for you.

It was also interesting listening to the WAN show.. they were limited on what they could say but apparently Nvidia have said that just because you can turn on 4x MFG doesn't mean you should, you should just be aiming for slightly above your monitors refresh rate.. so if you are going to be hitting your monitor refresh rate with just normal FG then there is literally 0 reason to purchase in my opinion.

On further looking into it going to wait for reviews, as my 4080 plays everything fine just now, so unless notable improvement will be sticking and spending my money elsewhere. Would rather pick up a new 4k 27 oled than have 15-25% extra performance for the money

I'm currently on a 3080FE running at 1440P so will only upgrade if a card can give me over 60% uplift. So far the ones that do are at over £1K which I won't be spending. May have to wait for another year or see what AMD can come up with.

5070 ti should be around 50%. Close enough? I just sold my 3080 for 400 quid so I'm more than half way there (depending on AIB pricing of the 50 card, given there isn't an fe).
