Thats what I used to think but I got older and wiser and jumped off the upgrade merry-go-round ;) Its not actually true though is it recycle 2k exactly.

Lol. Did you read my post properly sir? I never said you get every penny back. In the example I gave you would get 80% back after using it for 18-24 months. That is a £400 loss. Surely better than 2K loss like people make it sound like?

If the benchmarks are favourable i'll sell the 4090 to make the £2k more bearable :S
I suspect any of those with a 4090 will regret not waiting for a 6090.

thats gotta have more of a tech leap than just frame gen and about 25% faster raster.

if you could unlock the new frame gen and add 20% raster fps for say £1000 would you? because that's essentially what people like us would be doing, could be even worse than that depending on how much 4090s will sell for second hand.

Yes I read your optimistic post, if only it was like that for everyone. :) Its a risk what you get back not an exact science. Gambling in one sense but whatever floats your boat.

my sim rig is my BIG hobby so for me it's not really and issue spending silly money on it my wheel, pedals etc costs a fortune  and when in VR and it's dropping a few frames that 20% may make it smooooooooth  i'm a nightmare! ask the wife lol

Exact science, no. But roughly how it works. Only way it goes wrong is if you wait to long and something is released before you sell or you sell the card on Ebay or something and end up scammed.

Is there a risk, of course. You can minimise the risk by doing what I said but with lower range cards.

Say you do it with a 5070Ti. You buy it at £750. Max youncan lose is £750 because you got scammed when selling it for example. Otherwise a likely loss is £200-£300.

Does not look promising for me at all. I'm not convinced by all the smoke and mirrors so far. Im really hopeful for a good mid range/high offering from AMD, otherwise ill look for a last gen card
