Another alternative would be to see if one of your parents would take the contract out for you, then you set up a direct debit into their account each month so its still you paying for it.

As stupid as it sounds having a credit card gives you a better credit rating than without as your rating is based both on your history and capability to settle debts.I'm only 18 years old and I've *NEVER* had credit/finance before. Could this be down to my 2nd name or something
if your home address has been black listed by you or anyone living there for the pass 10 years (or something like that) Anyone applying for credit and using that address will be refused no matter what your credit score is like.
