There are enough potential migrant workers making their own way to the UK to go around, we don't need to make any. Besides, it would probably be more expensive to make one then to hire Bill Gates.

...Whenever I've wanted to post a poll - by the time a don puts the poll up, the discussion is practically over :(

I've found this too.

If a poll is requested by RTM the chances of it being created earlier in the discussion are far higher than when the OP just sticks a request in the first post and expects a Don to see it:)

Because we would probably despair over some of the polls - "what colour shirt should i wear tonight?", "whose hotter, Lilo Lill or Aunty Wainwright?" etc ;)

One small suggestion would be to give it as a right to members who post good stuff and then remove it if they abuse it... but then it is probably far to much work to keep track of.

I didn't know that. Especially after reading this

What are RTM’s?
RTM’s are used by dons, underbosses and regular posters to highlight posts and bring them to the attention of the forum-designated dons. RTM'ing is highly useful for swearies, competitor links, moving threads, warez, blatant trolling etc. Basically stuff that needs to be edited out and dealt with accordingly. You may also want to RTM if you think the content of the thread is unsuitable for the forums, or even if you want something added to a sticky.

...

Please note: If we do not feel any action is needed we will not edit the post. Not all your RTM’s will result in action being taken. The RTM button is not to be used to annoy dons. Please only use it for reporting offending posts.

If an RTM can be used then it's probably best editing the above post by Wolf. :)

It does say there that they are used to bring posts to the attention of Dons and plenty of people currently do that when they'd like a poll.
There's no point in adding random things like poll requests as there's so many other things RTM's get used for that aren't in there:)

Most members can't be trusted to brush teeth let alone make polls.

Haha :D

I think it should stay the way it is. We wouldn't get crap posted everywhere.

The worth while threads that need a poll usually get one.

Didn't stop you from reporting your thread though did it;)

thats cause i just read this one where it said you can use it to report thread for crap like that :p

I was just going to leave the "mod please move in the op" till i saw that :D

The other thing to note is that all RTM's are now visible to all moderators instead of just the forum specific ones as it used to be so that increases the chances of stuff getting actioned promptly and the rules should be updated.:)
