Why is there still a DVI connector on Nvidia reference cards?

DVI remains the best option for most use cases, and it's DVI-I so those stuck on VGA can use it too (though I'd rather VGA went the way of the dodo)

DP is good and HDMI is OK but both of them have bugs, quirks etc plus poorer connections than DVI which really remains outstanding for most users - just a shame it doesn't support higher resolutions & frequencies.

Why is it?

Well you would quite happily see DVI being stripped off without question in order for possibly better cooling. Meaning you dont use it anymore so dont really care for it. To me thats snobby and a bit arrogant.

I game at 1200p. Absolutely no need for anything other than DVI at this stage. It's all digital, DP wont give better image quality, absolutely no reason to use it.

Only on OcUK could a discussion about monitor connections go this way lol.

Just moved to DisplayPort, because I like the connector more than DVI. :D Was using a DP to MDP cable to hook the 780Ti into the U2715H previously, which seemed to work better as I don't have to resize my windows every time I switch inputs.

Im using DVI for 2 of my screens, HDMI for one and DP for the other on SLI 770's.

I however would be happy for DVI to be removed as I could easily use HDMI for all monitors with maybe an adapter for DP but I understand they need to appeal to everyone(minus VGA :P )

Still on DVI here (plus an HDMI where I ran out of DVI's). Also still answering threads where people are trying to get R9 290/290X's (which run DVI-D) to run their VGA monitors, so pleased Nvidia still support DVI-I on their GPUs.

About 95% of the world probably still uses DVI, I've only just made the move to DP myself and that's only because I upgraded to a 1440P monitor and I think I would've needed to buy a dual link DVI cable anyway.
