It does seem to be happening more and more but when I do see stuff like this I tend to make up my mind whether I've anything useful to add. If I don't I head away and browse some more.

Others seem to get sucked in and feel the need to add to the hate pile, either to argue vehemently against the op or to add fuel to the fire.

It's mostly probably due to the influx of new people like Tefal :p

Which to be honest in the GPU forums seemed a lot worse reading on the helmutcheese threads.
 
GD, and in fact the whole of the forums to an extent, tends to go in cycles which although it sounds a bit trite seems to be true - plus ca change, plus la meme chose. Just thinking about the time of year it may also be with the resumption of university that the quality improves again (whether that is because more students or less will post I really couldn't say).

However every so often in the cycles it seems that things work themselves up or down to a level and then the pendulum tends to swing back the other way so depending on whether you are a positive or negative person - if it's at a point you like then we're probably less than 6 months away from a dip, if it is at a point you don't like we're probably less than 6 months away from a peak.

I do reckon that there are still some quality posters around but not everyone maintains the same level of interest throughout so you might see less of them from time to time.
 
It is somewhat depressing sometimes when I read a post like "Oh I hate people who have attribute X" when I personally have attribute X. And it's always something trivial like "saying the word absolutely from time to time" or "drives a vauxhall". "I hate those vauxhall drivers, who do they think they are clogging up my precious roads with their POS cars?"

I hate people who complain about trivial attributes of other people. :p
 
I don't normally post here much but I come to GD expecting "mega lulz" the pasty smashing gets me everytime :D

I understand the frustration of people toning down serious topics etc. But I see it as a bit of banter.
