Probably wont help you much but I am using Firefox, latest version 140.0.4, and the Classic Blue theme on the forum and have no white flashes. Silly question but is it up to date and have you done any custom alternations in the settings or such ? If not I am sure one of the guru's on the forum be on sometime later that can help you better than me ! :p

Firefox does't check spelling when typing a reply in these forums, despite the option being enabled. What am I missing people!?

If you right click in the post edit box is check spelling ticked on the menu and a language (dictionary) selected.

I think its a FF thing not an OCUK thing @Rroff, as @deviation said, I don't even have that option when I right click.
Yeah, it doesn't work on any website/search box, which is strange despite being ticked in the settings.
about:addons do you have a dictionary installed?
It's not showing a dictionary option in the addons?

So, so many reasons if you read up on Brave. Hijacking of links and cryptoscams are enough of a reason for the trust being gone forever for me.
Hmm, I don't know much about this. Don't use the crypto wallet myself, but Googled Brave link hijacking and scams. It's a bit worrying. Is there a decent safety focussed browser?

Install a GB dictionary since you probably installed American Firefox. In Firefox settings enable 'Check spelling as you type'. Change the browser language to enGB while you're there.

In the quick edit box on this very forum (i.e. somewhere you can type), right click and make sure 'Check Spelling' is on.

If you install the localised (UK) version of Firefox this is usually done automatically.

I'm from the UK with a UK version of Firefox, and it already had UK English when I tried to install another variant of UK English :(
