You seriously want something like THAT in the video games industry? No thanks, I see it as a backwards step. Manhunt isn't a game with substance and depth. You want a decent game with similair stuff and depth, see Fahrenheit or Silent Hill or something.

To take ONE screenshot from a game and base your ENTIRE judgment on IT is crazy.

Grand Theft Auto 1 Anyone?
A procession of buddhists being mowed down by you driving a school bus AND getting BONUS points with some voice shouting "AWESOME" or something similiar.

Im assuming youve played the game and are able to give your opinion based on such experience.

If you are reffering to Manhunt 2, You should try picking up Ngamer and seeing what they think about the game, they are one of the few people whove had the chance to play the game they gave it 92% (WHICH IS THE SAME SCORE THEY GAVE TO THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: THE WIND WAKER) which isnt too bad for a game with "no substance". Far from it, the game does have substance and the developers have worked VERY HARD to create a game which dares to be different. If Daniel Lamb was walking around with several types of guns blowing people to bits with point blank headshots, nothing would have been said.

Im also certain the same people who say the game should be banned are the same ones who say "The Wii is a Kiddies console". I seriously want this game to be released not only because its GOOD but so I can say **** you to anyone who says that again.

Youve never played a violent game and enjoyed it?

ANYWAY - After training on this, im off to America to cut off Jack Thompsons head with a rusty saw, anyone want to join me, you can have the arms and legs

Email from Rockstar:

“We wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to contact us about Manhunt 2, which we had been planning to release on PlayStation 2, PSP and Nintendo Wii. As you know, Manhunt 2 was effectively banned around much of the world, after it was refused certification in the United Kingdom, prohibited in Ireland, and denied an M rating in the United States.

We are very proud of Manhunt 2 and believe it builds on what the team accomplished with the first title in the series. The game was developed as a horror experience, and to be an M rated title, aligning it with similar horror content created in other forms of media. Unlike many other people, we do not think video games should be singled out for special treatment from the authorities. We hope to have more information for you soon, but in the meantime, we wanted you to know how much we value all of your messages of support.”

Wouldn't work, neither Sony nor Nintendo will license the game for use on their system, so it doesn't really matgter if Rockstar sold it or gave it away, it won't be licensed to work on a Sony or Nintendo console as the situation stands.

Rockstar Appeals Manhunt 2 UK Ban

UK, August 1, 2007 - Six weeks after the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) refused to give Manhunt 2 an age rating in the UK - effectively banning the game from sale - Rockstar has lodged an appeal to get the decision overturned.

Yesterday Rockstar made its plea to the Video Appeals Committe (VAC) - which has the power to overrule the BBFC - although it's not known on what grounds the developer is basing its defence. Manhunt 2 was refused classification because of its "unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone... which constantly encourages visceral killing with exceptionally little alleviation or distancing".

Speaking to IGN about its appeal, a Rockstar spokesperson said: "Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. confirmed today that Rockstar Games has appealed the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) decision that prohibited the release of any version of Manhunt 2 in Britain."

Meanwhile, the BBFC said that no further comment could be made at this time because the appeal process is a legal one, meaning Rockstar just has to wait while John Woods, VAC chairman, selects indvidiuals for an appeal panel who will then vote as to whether the ban stays in place. The BBFC has confirmed it will announce when the panel has been formed.
about time.

Hope this comes out for the PS2.

All that say no to it need to take a hike.

Im sick of these god damn ban this and ban that. If this doesn't realease in the UK where can I order it that's PAL to work on my PS2?

^Nowhere Sony + Nintendo will not allow AO (Adult only) games to be released for use on their console. So unless it receives an M (mature) rating in the USA it will not see release (as the game is now), since its their biggest market. And in the UK it received the of equivalent an AO rating effectively banning it since its not allowed to be sold anywhere.

So if its not going to be sold in either the UK or USA (as the game is now) what chance do we have of seeing it released elsewhere? I hope Rockstar do win since whats to stop this happening to future titles?

Then there is still the problem of the AO rating since a lot of retailers in USA refuse to stock them and in the UK it is effectively banned. Only way we will see the game is if its re-classified as M in the USA or 18 in the UK.

I'm not actually bothered at all about this game, but this quote in that article reaffirmed that I think I'd like to live in the Netherlands...

The Dutch Ministry refused to get in its way, stating to Parliament that would break the regional law which considers adults capable of making their own decisions.

The first game was pants. Coupled with the fact it's just a sick game. The killings were disgusting in the first game.

wow knives I actually agree with you on something.
