WII out performs PS3 in US

As i said, i didn't mean powerwise, we know its about the same as the 360, but when it comes out over here its going to be over year since the 360 was released, so everyone will think its a lot better, when in fact it ain't, so are going to be rushing out for it in droves.

Hmm not sure about that. The PS3 specs look pretty impressive for a console anyway.

I'm aware of what you meant.

True. The games for PS3 will look similar to current 360 games as the developers have had more time to work with it.

He has a good point. No kids going to pull down the specs of the 360 and the ps3. The 360 is old news, the ps3 is what kids are going to want.

And how many of these 'kids' will be able to pay for a 425 pounds + games console?

When I was a kid there's no way my parents would buy one for me regardless of whether or not they could afford it, and they couldn't have let me spend that sort of money if I got through birthday money or whatever. And I think most kids parents would have the same attitude.

Yeah i saw the PS3 on Click on BBC news 24, and they had the same game running on the PS3, and the 360 side by side, and i couldn't see any difference, looked identical.

My parents weren't rich either, but if i had the cash and "it was what i really wanted" then i could spend my money on whatever the hell i liked!

Depends on the developer as well. Some try really hard on one platform and then do a lazy port to another - Look at most gamecube games - very poor ports, hence the platform failed.

I don't think many kids have 425 quid sitting around waiting to be spent.

1. There are lots of rich parents out there.
2. I'm suprised your parents didn't let you spend your own money (although yes they would have seen it as a waste) but some parents are like that (I thought it was just mine ;)).

Exactly that, 425 quid is a waste...giving a kid free control of what to do with his money is not teaching him/her the value of money.

Of course they do. "Ill have it as my birthday and christmas and the money i get from grandma etc....." It will sell.... and those little kiddy winkles will have their PS3's.

Well it's still relevant, I don't think that a lot of kids will be getting the PS3 in the next year. I think the majority of the userbase will be made up of 18+ year olds.

Probably... unless they get swayed by the power of the Wii!

the Wii isn't marketed on its power. it's marketed on the new dimension of gaming that Nintendo have chosen to explore with it. if you can't debate the topic properly, do us all a favour and opt for not posting, as opposed to trolling.
