Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

I just got an email to transition my account to an NCSOFT account, in preparation for CBT4, and a new beta key.

Lots of new features and changes, seems very interesting!
 
Waiting on keys, not happening so far :( seems previous testers are getting new ones for transitioning, maybe theyll shoot out a new wave at some point. Fingers crossed.
 
Well, great start so far for NCSOFT. Still haven't received my new account email. Have resent it 6 times!! Also makes me wonder if Wildstar will be like Guild Wars 2 in terms of only the US servers will be ran by NCSOFT and the EU servers will be ran by some other company.
 
wow, graphics arent everything but is this really an upcoming game with graphics like that? Looks like a game from 5 years ago :/

Gameplay would have to be REALLY good to warrant a sub with those graphics, as its competing with wow which has had a lot of time to mature.

Are you kidding? It's an art style, it's similar to WoW and it looks better? lol.

Meh, each to their own opinion, I think it looks bloody great!

The graphics aren't bad, it's a chosen art style.

I guess saying they 'chose' the 'art style' is a good way of hiding the fact it looks like ass ;)

Everyone has their own opinions fair enough, but how many people moaned about how old wow was looking and now look at this game and the player models/environment in that video linked a few posts up :/

Good luck with that, expect to see games use the same style for decades, it works, it does the job, I guess you can't play any game that looks like Minecraft or Terraria either?
 
WoW's model resolution is pants, that has been the major complaint in WoW looking old - which is why they are updating player models for WoD. Anyway, WoW's animations are still head and shoulders above every MMO bar GW2, whch is far more imprtant (imo) for a MMO.

Wildstar doesnt have that problem, if you dont like the art style fair enough but to judge a game as being rubbish etc just because you dont like the style probably shows your maturity level :p

Agree on the animation, still not found a MMO that has the same animations and character movement as WoW. They hit the nail on the head with it, felt amazing.

Every other MMO I've played has just been a little too... Clunky...

So I emailed NCSOFT yesterday telling them I was not receiving the activation email.

I just this email:

Hello Dave,
In order to register your Wildstar beta key you will need an active NC Account. At this time, it does not appear that you have registered an NC Account.
To create an NC Account, visit the following website: https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/playncCreate.pl
The following support article will provide more detailed information on the account creation process, if needed:

On the right side of this page you should see a large button for Wildstar that says "add game" under the "Add Game" section. Clicking this link will take you to a page where you may enter your Wildstar beta key and create the account.
If you have any trouble creating a new NC Account or registering your key, please reply to this ticket and let us know.

Are you creating a brand spanking new account, or transfering from the old to new system? I forgot my password and when I put my email the password reset it said it sent an email, it did not. When I put my username in the same thing but I got the mail instantly.

I know you said you're waiting for the activation email though, but there's something wrong with it I think :/

As far as I know I have never had a NCSOFT account. But I did try that password recovery first and inputted my email and it said it had sent but I got nothing. So I then tried to make an account and because it didn't say that the email was already in use and it had sent out an activation email I took it as read that I definitely didn't have an account.

But I will try the username in the box instead. Thanks.
 
Yeah just tried a few usernames that I would use.

Two of them gave me security questions but both had a question I would never pick so I know they are not my accounts.

So finally got my email after I used my gmail account instead of my hotmail one... so now my old username is taken.

Anyway I just read this on the forum about the friend thing that whoever you give out a key to you are responsible for and therefore if they break the NDA they will get banned along with the person that gave them the key and everyone else that has gotten keys on that account. So be careful who you guys on here that get keys give them out to!

I am so confused. Not had a beta key so went to check on it. Was able to create an account with the same email....so does that mean I was no longer registered for a beta key or I still was/am and just need a new NCSOFT account?
 
Creating a NCSOFT account is just a new step that has been introduced since carbine have moved over to using the NCSOFT account system.

I had a Wildstar beta account and a Wildstar forum beta account but I got an email telling me that I had to create (or sign into) a NCSOFT account. And in the email was a new beta key with which to apply on my NCSOFT account.

The email that you used to sign up to beta was sent to carbine-studios' not NCSOFT so I suspect all you did was create an NCSOFT account which anyone can do.
