Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

Anyone tried any of the dungeon's yet? We attempted the level 20 one and found it extremely challenging, lots of fun though.

Yeah we did that one last night as our first "guild run," took us almost 3 hours to clear it because our tank was struggling gear-wise. Great fun though, still glad we did it.

I'd rather struggle than just face roll everything, everyone loves a good challenge.

This was why it was fun, even the trash mobs took coordination. Pick-up groups are really going to struggle if they aren't over-geared, we had to get everyone on mumble to coordinate stuns and movement.

Well i rolled a medic and an esper last night and found myself enjoying the medic more so i think i am going to take that as my main. A big rock of medic will be interesting to see how it is going forward :)

So far really enjoying the game and i can feel the old addiction starting to crop back up. Its also making my old 6970 seem a little old in the tooth, i may be due for an upgrade.

What sort of cards are people using to get max settings out of this game and is the CPU much of a bottleneck?

Dont really want to change my cpu at this point might just give it a bit of an overclock, currently got an i5 2500K with a nice cooler so i can afford to boost it a bit.

As for the card a GTX 770 is a little rich for my blood at the moment, looking more at the R9 270 2GB card.

Anyone have any experience with a similar build?

A 270 is basically a 7870. I run a 2500k OC'd to 4.4 and a 7850 also overclocked and while it usually runs smoothly at 30-50fps there are some areas that i was only getting 20-25fps, using high settings. I imagine a 270 will probably get about the same and theoretically a little better, the game still isn't optimized properly.

Edit - just realized you are running a 6970, i'm not even sure you'd notice much difference tbh.

I got it, thanks :D!!
:)

Might hold on to the cash for a bit longer then and hope for some additional optimisations :)

I end up playing a bit on a integrated iris 5000 chip with everything low anyway, but its always nice to have all the bells and whistles on for a dungeon or group content!

Do the guest passes get emailed through? Once i get mine i will post them up on here.

Mine were in the confirmation email i recieved after adding the full retail code to the account. I think if you bought from NCsoft they get mailed out seperately though.
