Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

Anyone running this on a rMBP with either 650m or 750m?

My performance is pretty shocking.

I've tried posting on the wildstar forums but people seem to think that unless you have a £600 GPU that you have no place trying to run the game.

TBH I think it's just down to optimisation (I get the same FPS whether GFX settings are set to extra low all the way up to high) but any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Short.....try running it in DX9 mode....right click the Wildstar Icon, click properties and add -dx9 to the end of the target path.

It should look like:

"C:\Program Files(x86)\NCSoft\Wildstar" –dx9

In DX11 it runs awful for me, in DX9 its smooth as butter.
 
Yeah was reading this thinking "Hmm, I'm not on the best hardware and it runs great".

Always forget I changed it to DX9, does make a difference!
 
I tried -dx9 and it has actually given me about an 8fps boost which is a definite step in the right direction.

I'm convinced the GPU is being throttled after a while as well but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that can be done. Apparently Yoesmite changes something in the bios that fixes it though.
 
I admit I don't have a great system but no matter what I do I've been unable to make this enjoyable.. got to level 15 but half the time I get such low fps and lag that it sucks. Wanted to play more but too frustrating graphically. If I upgrade my pc which I can't afford atm I would be hapoy to resub because I enjoyed the game itself, although prob be either ftp or next best thing will be out lol. For comparison laptop plays wow on ultra at 40fps, wildstar on ultra-low at 15-30fps.

Wildstar is the only game I play that makes my 290 Tri-X cooler run at full speed. That includes Farcry 3 :D

Yea, I'd say optimisation is something which needs to be sorted ASAP. Looking at the official forums (and on here) a lot of people are un-subbing because their system just won't run it.

It's ok for me at the moment (while levelling) but there is no way I could be competitive in PVP/raiding at end game with the way it runs currently.
 
The big PvP patch is coming this morning. The only final patch notes up atm are in languages i don't speak but fingers crossed it's a good 'un.
