Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

I've gone from not really knowing about this game to suddenly being excited about it. Apologies if already linked in this thread but does anyone have a recent and comprehensive overview of the game so far (ideally a decent third party preview, rather than stuff from the official site)?
 
How does it run? I'm hoping to play this on a 7850 with an old stock i5. Will it be ok? I'm hoping the graphical style bodes well for lower end systems.

As for the chance of it running well on an 7850/i5, Well the game client currently in beta has limited graphics options and pretty much runs in medium settings pretty damn well. I'd be shocked if you didnt get a steady 60fps at 1080p with the default settings.
 
When this is released, i'll be holding a party at my house ingame, yeahhh boy!

The housing system in this looks absolutely great, can't wait to endlessly customise my plot.
 
The game runs okay..i did get a little slow down in the heavily built up city at the start in some areas and that was on a 7990 lol...crossfire doesn't work in this game though...In most areas it ran very fluid, its mostly in built up towns where it slows a little but this is with everything maxed out apart from textures which are stuck at medium.
Just frustrating that crossfire doesn't work yet.
Tryed every class up to level 10 so far and there a lot of fun.

Its sad but only the thought of a new, long lasting mmo gives me this level of excitement. I'm trying to put it out of my mind till release but I can't help reading about every little detail.

I know what you mean, i'm sure all of us here have been burnt by mmos in the past so know not to get our hopes up (too much) because it normally ends in disappointment.

The one things im really interested to find out about in Warplots, i was brain storming with a friend today and we could think of a couple of different ways they could make it really good but there is always a part of you that thinks they will mess it up and wont live up to your expectations in one way or another.
 
damnit, ive watched all the vids linked in this thread and now im thirsty for this game. It seems exactly what I need to re kindle my mmo itch!

I'm praying to the mmo gods that I receive a beta invite through email now but if anyone has a spare i'd bite your arm off for it.
 
Yeah I'm really liking the look of this game! Was a long time WoW player (since Beta on and off) and just faded out from WoW at the end of Cata.

Thought I'd never take to an MMO again but this looks amazing, really hoping for a beta key aswell!
 
Haha, yeah I'm trying not to consume too much Wildstar so everything is pretty new to me. I've watched probably 3 or 4 videos but don't want to see too much content.

I've seen enough to know I'll play it for a long time. Spent an hour in the stress test to test out the combat and as I've said before it's excellent.
 
Is it non instanced like wow, or is the world all split into instances?

Thats what annoys me with new mmos, the constant instancing and even worse is when the same area has multiple instances that you can flick through like conan.
 
Are they trickling out more Beta invites as it gets closer to release? Like a few others have said I haven't seen too much info deliberately about the game, as I remember knowing nothing of wow until my brother talked me into it. I was like "what's an mmo?" It was 2005 and I had my head stuck in flight sims back then!

I'm looking forward to giving this some of my time, are there any plans for guilds from this forum?
