Wildstar New MMO (NCSoft and Carbine Studios)

Hate to compare it to the other MMO thats out same time roughly, as well, ESO - steaming pile of doggy do / Wildstar - fantastic. But you only have to look at how 'open' they have been with their beta and the twitch streams & screenshots floating around to know this game is going to be good. Wouldnt surprise me if they go the WoW route and have a nice open beta a month before release, really ramp up the mouth frothing.

I've been dismissive of Wildstar for a long time, then I saw the video of the baddie telling how he got beat up by each class, it was pretty funny. It linked to class previews and all of them look really great to play.

The only thing I don't like about it is NCSoft.

They have confirmed there will be a open beta one month before release.

Has anyone bought a key for £50 or so? Did it work?

Thinking present for my wife as she's annoyed watching me play lol

Much like wow in a lot of aspects the continents have a loading screen but zones within it do not. There's still a class to be announced as well I think so still news to be had :-)

Are all classes available to all races or just the couple allowed in this beta by the way. I went for a spirit support/attack kinda dude and explorer. I made him look like an avatar for lols.

Or just let her play on your account and then buy the full game for her when it releases? Definitely better value than giving £50 to some random person in the hope of getting a beta key..

OCuK guild incoming?

They never work on any mmo for some reason. An ocuk started guild with a general recruitment policy perhaps.

Thinking about it the ocuk problem tends to be our mmo'ers are quite a diverse group so don't stick together too long. I.e. if we were all raided you could find a common ground but here tends not to be one.

Yeah suppose you are right, it would be probably be easier to join another guild as a group if possible and go from there, that way we wont have people fighting over guild leader and officer positions etc.

I remember being in one of the best raiding guilds on my server in WoW, such fun so many memories, this game looks extremely promising in terms of end game content so far, if i remember right the original WoW and WoW TBC developers are in carbine studios so its got a lot going for it.

Yeah i did lol. I figured its the price of a ps4 game for months of enjoyment.. theres no sub while your in a beta and you get to give it a really good test to decide if its worth paying a sub for. Also im so unlucky with beta keys so i thought why not.
Its very polished too.. theres a few quest bugs but it feels like a finished product.
I played wow all through my college years. It was my main game for about 5 years and there hasn't been one good MMO thats kept my attention since then and this is first time in years iv actually looked forward to getting back in game and carrying on.
Played the ESO online stress test the other week and it was rubbish..completely average and boring..played 5 mins of Wildstar and i was hooked. Theres just so much going on in the world and i personally love the cartoony look. Im curious how much better it will look when they had the high res textures.

I doubt an OCUK guild would work to be honest but maybe we should all join the same server at least...

Yeah thats my issue too. They seem to just churn out multiple mmorpg games annually and move on, no long time full on support like blizzard for wow or the eve devs.

Well if three massively successful MMo's in a decade constitute churn I'm all for it !! Personally I can't wait for Blade & Soul but Wildstar will do just fine until then.

A quick wiki shows 7 different mmo games by ncsoft that have closed in the last few years dude. They do multiple games a year and maybe release a half hearted expansion here or there like aion because they are already working on another 2 games etc.

I would love this to do well and be as awesome as wow, i just want a dev that actually supports the games long term. Wouldnt surprise me if they are already working on more mmo games on top of wildstar.

I don't think it's that they don't support as much as they are always chasing the cash cow, they've flopped that many times they always seem to have one eye on the next project expecting the current one to fail.

Assuming Wildstar does well I wouldn't be too shocked to see their mentality change and their release rate drop off sharply. That is pure assumption though.
