It does look like he half pulled out or Chris Rock partially dodges the brunt of it.

Either way, ridiculous on both parties.

Problem was that Will laughed. If they both gave a frosty reception then Chris Rock looks like the bad guy.

To be fair is probably a fake laugh without understanding the joke, they know they have cameras pointing at them especially when they are the butt of a joke to see their reactions. Its why they perfect the clap and pretend to be happy for the winner of an award they were also in the running for.
