Will the horns ruin the World Cup?

I don't know whether ESPN's audio gadgemen are better than ITVs (which wouldn't surprise me in the slightest) or that the bar I watched the Eng-USA system had tweaked the equalizer accordingly but I found that whilst the buzzing was mildly irritating, the commentary came through clearly and the sound of the buzzing was only magnified when it went to a shot of a corner.

Still bloody stupid contraptions though.

i Just got a new TV this friday (just in the nick of time).. connected all up to my 5.1, set all the audio levels how i like them then watched the first match... 90mins of HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!!!!! talk about annoying lol

Aren't they bored of blowing into the vuvuzela's yet?

I can see it being fun for maybe 5 mins, but for the whole 90?

Brrrrrrrr

It does nothing for the atmosphere of the game, you cant hear any singing of cheers or boo's just the ****** annoying buzz of those ****** horns.

I love the singing, the crescendo of noise that accompanies save, near misses and goals, all we have got is a constant monotone buzz, its hell !

Someone please run onto the pitch with a bloody vuvuzela and attack the corner flag, linesman, ref anybody, that'll get em baned :D

I watched the England game in the pub yesterday, that was better as we created our own atmosphere.

I don't think I can face another match, I like watching it with commentary but the super cell of Bee's that are constantly flying round the stadium are driving me nuts !!

Ive just wound up with a pretty nasty headache after every game and its doing my head in. One of the best parts of the world cup is the fans and what different nations fans brings to the games in terms of atmosphere. Im getting none of that in this tournament so far, none of the fans singing and chanting makes it through the din of the horns. Each match just blurs into the next with none of the things that give world cup football its atmosphere making it through the wall of noise.

Its all very well saying that the African fans have their traditions (not that this has been around long enough to qualify as being any sort of tradition) but why should they get to ruin things for 95% of people watching the tournament :(.
