God damn it...

"But a World Cup spokesman insisted vuvuzelas are "ingrained in the history of South Africa" and will remain."

Yeah?? Well apartheid is ingrained in the history of south africa too, so maybe that should remain.

(not to say that the horns are comparable to apartheid, merely to point out that just because something is ingrained in the history of a country that is hardly justification for something remaining if the majority are against it)

does anyone know where i could download a good quality mp3 or wav sample of a vuvuzela in full effect? i'd love to have one as my ringtone! :D

Africa has ruined this world cup

I must admit, I am definitely not enjoying this world cup as much as I have past world cups, all I can hear is the horns, I can even hear the horns when I don't have the TV on.

I wonder if these horns will make their way to UK footy grounds for next season :p

I seriously don't see the problem with them and they're not bugging me. I've heard they sound different in the stadiums.

Just concentrate on the football, stop nit picking and try and enjoy some decent ish football.

They're not as annoying as the people who complain about them mid game.

I'm more bugged by the lack of decent football (Bar Germany / Argentina) and the god awful biased and generally lazy commentary.

If you find people complaining about them to be annoying then wtf are you doing in this thread?

The horns arent too bad...i can easily block them out but they are a tad annoying at times.

If i was there i would have probably rammed a few horns down a few throats...how can you watch the game with someone constantly blasting down that horn next to you :/
