Will the horns ruin the World Cup?

Game finished and noise was was exactly the same from the vevuzelas. It's just a constant drone which bears no relation to anything.

Nice to see that fact that this match containing no African nations is escaping the annoying din...... NOT!:mad::mad:

OMG SHUT THE HORNS UP
It's ruining the experience of watching games on TV.

What he said.

Absolutly horrible drone, sounds like a swarm of bees, Let them blow them for the African games (ill mute those ones) BAN them for all non african games!

Tomorrow I'm going to try watching TV, whilst listening to the commentary on 5-live radio (tv on mute).

Its a longshot, but maybe the horns are quieter or something ..

(My description - it's like there is a port next door with a ferry in it, and someone just holding the ferry horn on for 90 minutes solid - with no relevence to the game whatsoever.)

It also means you can hear no chants. No crowd getting excited or individuals during quieter bits shouting swear words (always makes me smile). No-one (occasionally) banging a drum or occasionally using an airhorn or no trumpets playing the 'world cup song' thing. No cheers, no jeers. It's all drowned out by 1, single, 90 minute long single - horrible - tone. Yea, great 'African culture' there.

I can not think of a worse sound either. If it was just a short jingle, a tune, there were some gaps or something. IT got faster or slower or CHANGED IN ANY WAY AT ALL when the game changed. Anything, but 'mono-horn' ??

They are annoying, but the don't really ruin it for me, can hear the commentary clearly over them.

Wouldn't go to the hassle of faffing about with the radio just to avoid them anyway.

I do hope they get a ban though :p

Awesome picture ^

Give me continuous white noise random horns over some lone "musician" playing a recognisable "tune" on a trumpet at the back of the stands any day. You simply cannot ignore it if it is any kind of tune you know, same as if someone calls out your name, your brain just focuses on it. Constant drone of the horns is easily tuned out for me.

I wonder how many people will end up watching most of the World Cup on mute!

So much for the England band who im sure will be there, but of course drowned out by the pointless drone of these bloody vuvuzelas

Ban em, its not fair to the rest of the non-tone deaf world!
