Will the horns ruin the World Cup?

There will prob be lots of stands outside the stadium selling these things cheep, so expect it in all the games im affraid.

The sound engineers will filter them better once they realise how much it's ******** everyone off, I hope anyway.
Best bit of the RSA match was when Mexico scored & it went silent for a few secs. I can see the viewing figures dropping for the other matches if they dont filter it better.

Side note.
I can't say Mexico with an x I say it Mehico like I'm a cartoon character. :o + :p

The first world cup I can ever remember being totally devoid of any atmosphere whatsoever , just a constant drone killing everything else.

Why on earth aren't bbc/itv sticking the commentators in a studio with mics that only pick up what they are saying. Jesus, play some crowd noises from old games for all I care, but no crowd noise would be better than the constant damn drone.

What I don't get is, as a fan, how can you like hearing a constant single noise all game long. I can barely bare to hear them on TV, pretty sure you'd be driven completely barmy at the actual game itself with it shedloads louder in real life.

We should give every England fan a john "pompey" westwood style bell and drum and just ring 40,000 bells non-stop for 90 minutes and see how popular it is :)

Look, you guys go to a game here, then come back here and say they are horrible. I hated them too but once I went to a game at the Cape Town Stadium, I loved them

I can tell you with 100% certainty that I wouldn't love them in the stadium either. Do you want to go deaf or something? :p

They may be wonderful in the stadium but as said there's a heck of a lot more people watching the game on TV than are watching it in the stadium.

It's obvious that the horns and TV don't mix.

If I was in teh stadium with that noise i would get violent & I would start the classic windmill move holding my ally keyboard.

I want to hear the drummers and the fans, not 40000 air horns constantly blowing.
They should be banned!

All I know is that if my tv had 3 audio channels, (one with commentary , one with normal crowd noise and one with horns) and I was able to have those channels on or off in any combination, I would turn off the horn channel :) (as I suspect would many other people) .

Fair enough , maybe they are just incredibly amazing live, but I am not live nor will I ever likely be live in SA to hear them. I am sure the scream of a formula one car at the moment it passes you by is awesome but its not really the only thing I want to hear nonstop for 90mins. Just different tastes is all.

Went to a Kaiser Chiefs game , they are horrible , infantile , pathetic and irritating. Happy now ?

Any atmosphere there could have been like singing, drumming etc was drowned out by the incessant ****** drone.

Well done Africa , the first World Cup to have no atmosphere whatsoever and lots of people starting to watch games with the sound off.
