Will you be ditching your 980 TI\TX for Pascal?

Seen as i purchased my 980ti hydro copper in February this year, I'm going to keep mine until the big boys come out.

I may even wait till the end of next year to see what comes out then like a pascal titan x.

The 1080's sure do look nice at a excellent price point.

But i think my 980ti at 1550 overclocked will do just fine at the moment.

many people will get caught up on the hype but

we have yet to see real game benchmarks
how much fps do you need ? if you at 1080 for this year even a 970 will destroy anything out.so no real need to upgrade and still play everything about.

those that are selling 980ti to get one gunna be wincing

what future games not out yet are actually going to be to punishing to run on a 980ti at high/ultra settings for current 1080 or 1440 people?, the way i see it these new cards comming are for those wishing to run 4k monitors, if your not upgrading to these are using g-sync then i don't see the real need for them at the moment until HBM2 cards at least is released

Bought my 980Ti on Black Friday and got a great deal. No plans to upgrade. Breezes through all my games at 1440p and with no plans on getting a 4K screen anytime soon there's not much point in changing. Until there's a great 4K screen with gsync and IPS that I really want I'll hold on to what I've got. Looking forward to the benchmarks though.

Even a single OC 980ti struggles to maintain a "constant" 50+ FPS with "max" settings in most games @ 2560x1440 and even 1080 i.e. the division, witcher 3, fallout 4, rise of the tomb raider.

Not to mention, if people want to get the "full" benefit of 144HZ displays, they need to be pushing 100+FPS too.

Just depends on things like a) how much better the 1080 is b) when you will actually be able to get anything other than the founders edition etc etc. really need more concrete evidence and benchmarks before I decide if it is worth bothering with or not.

I'm more likely to snap up a 980ti from someone selling one and running sli. Even then, only if the prices are reasonable.

Funny thing is, deciding to sell today might even be the worst time - it's like panic selling on the stock market. I wouldn't be surprised if second hand prices rise a bit(from the current low offers) after the dust settles in a few days.

Yeah it is quite funny to see all the new T-Xs and Ti's on ebay..
Really are like sheep panic selling.. then sitting with no GPU for a month waiting for the next gen lol

I'll be hanging onto my 980ti until next year I reckon. Nothing really pushes it that hard that I feel like I need more at 1440p. Maybe if I had a money tree, but it isn't looking so good that I must have it. Might have to pick up a cheap 2nd card!

Is the 1080ti likely to even have HBM2? Would make more sense to try and cream more money out of the next Titan by having that as the only HMB2 card, something like:

1080 - 8GB GDDR5X
1080ti - 12GB GDDR5X
Pascal Titan - 12/16GB HBM2

So the new 1080 has no HBM2 not good really..

I will hold on to my Titan X For untill the 1080ti or next Titan.. when will we get the next Titan q1 2017?

What will happen is now every one will panic sell 980ti's T-Xs
then once all the cards are gone and not many on ebay prices will rise as people will still want T-Xs and 980tis for SLI in a few months..
So once the TX-2 is out i will still get a good price for mine as there will not be many for sale on E-bay and stuff..

whats this MM people are selling on?

If I had just the one TI or Titan X I would just hold onto it, but with SLI issues (though not been too bad for me) I plan to sell both my X's and grab one 1080. In fact I already sold one of my Titans

all them games run higher than 60fps this end on my card and with g-sync on you never notice any framedips anyway, these new cards offer nothing new unless your going VR or 4K

I presume you have a 980ti? You talking about "max" settings (and I mean everything on max, AA as an exception if you want)? What res?

Because reviews show otherwise... even nvidia's benchmarks/graphics guides show the cards not to be getting 50FPS @1440, and some don't even get that @ 1080 either (and I imagine they are best case scenario too...):

For the witcher 3 and fallout 4, there are plenty of other benchmarks out, although iirc, fallout 4 got a patch that dramatically increased performance so it might be able to achieve and hold 60FPS more often now.

And yes, g/free sync will help smooth out the FPS dips and make 40-60FPS a lot more playable but as reviewers and others sensitive to motion clarity and other things, low FPS is still low FPS and free/g sync doesn't fix those issues.
