The best deflection I can raise at short notice is the bins were probably removed to stop immigrants and "forriners" <sp> putting bombs in them to bump people off that they don't like, as has happened so often before ;)

OK, desperate I know :) In reality there are a lot of dirty barstewards about...Even monarchist ones.

I saw some sporting event in the last year where a group of fans stayed behind and cleaned the stadium after. My memory is saying they were Korean but I could be wrong, I just can't think what the event was  It did show how different cultures deal with such things though. If just 1% had stayed behind and done a couple of bags each it would have been cleaned up in no time at all.

That was Japanese fans during the World Cup.

I am sure that clean up crews will have been dispatched by the mayor as soon as he could.

While I believe that everybody should take their rubbish home with them, it is a slightly quaint and old fashioned notion when seeing the fast food wrappers thrown from car windows or flowing over the top of rubbish bins most days of the week.

I do wonder what £ value on the monarchy will be without the Queen.

I can't see Charles being as big a draw for some on the Royal tourism trek as the Queen was.

Edit: Not that tourists come to see them most of the time, I've never seen one.
Most tourists go to the historical royal places - Tower of London, Osbourne House. Highly recommend visiting Osbourne House

People need to stop using the outside as one large bin. Stop throwing out your empty coffee cup, bottle of water out of the car window when finished. Leave til get home or reach your destination.

Reading through this thread it really saddens me that we have some members who simply find it impossible to be positive about absolutely anything. You only need to look at their post history to find that every single post they make is negative or anti everything.

I hope it’s just an online personna. I can’t imagine what it’s like to only express negative opinions and not find happiness in anything at all.

Hear hear, the utter bah humbug attitude of many on here is sickening. I pity their friends and family.

Don't be so negative, some of us are quite chipper :D :p

The players also cleaned up their dressing room and left a thank you note and little origami swans IIRC.

Say what you like about the Japanese but they leave us severely wanting in the respect department.
I seem to remember watching a programme about Japan, everybody seemed very courteous and would keep noise down after a certain time in the evening.

It seemed blissful in that regard.

If it wasn’t clear, I’m not just talking about this thread, it’s all their posts over the whole forum.
Oh no I agree, this has become such a negative place lately. SC in particular is an awful place chock full of arguments, bitterness, and vitriol, and has a dark, depressive atmosphere

I think with the SC a lot of the subject matter can be quite heavy so I guess some of it can be quite negative.

There are often extreme stances taken on either side with lines drawn in the sand early on. It does result in a lot of word hurling rather than discussion which can be a bit depressingly monotonous.

Anyway, it's raining here which means the green things can grow so that's at least something positive. :)

Discussions on here normally degrade into point scoring rather than trying to find a resolution or further the discussion.

When you make a mistake (everyone makes them regardless of some believing they don't), others don't accept it was genuine or that, given new information, your view has changed without a tirade of "ner ner" or "told you so" and try to make that person feel like an idiot.

Or worse - the person making the mistake won't accept it under overwhelming evidence showing the error, but instead just double down... Some.of that will be to do with what I said in the previous paragraph I suppose....vicious circle.

I think it would be fun for everyone to meet up face to face and air out the issues :p

SC is full of intolerance. In particular intolerance for people regurgitating as fact unsupported populist nonsense from the right wing rags and social media.
