Discussions on here normally degrade into point scoring rather than trying to find a resolution or further the discussion.

When you make a mistake (everyone makes them regardless of some believing they don't), others don't accept it was genuine or that, given new information, your view has changed without a tirade of "ner ner" or "told you so" and try to make that person feel like an idiot.

Or worse - the person making the mistake won't accept it under overwhelming evidence showing the error, but instead just double down... Some.of that will be to do with what I said in the previous paragraph I suppose....vicious circle.

I think it would be fun for everyone to meet up face to face and air out the issues :p
Trust me, having voted for the Tories in 2019 I’m well aware of that. apparently, I voted for them so I’m not allowed to moan about them :p

SC is full of intolerance. In particular intolerance for people regurgitating as fact unsupported populist nonsense from the right wing rags and social media.

It always seemed a bit like the political wing of AVForums in that Right leaning posters were just about tolerated until some means of nousting them could be fabricated, but such are opinions. It never seemed to vibrate with self effacing humour and any tolerance of those with numerically low opposing views. Some might call it an echo chamber.

I have read your post twice and I still can't see anything about immigrants/immigration. Who are you and what have you done with the real Chris Wilson?

egh regurgitating social media nonsense should be tolerated ?

general climate is down to UK economic situation - I don't think those that spectated the coronation are those impacted
  • In this Coronation edition, the survey was carried out in an online survey by Kantar TNS with a representative sample size of 1,251 adults over the age of 16 years old in Great Britain.
  • Economic impact is based on the average domestic overnight holiday spend of £277 per trip (GBTS, 2019 adjusted for inflation).

on windows too
couldn't see anything in N Cambs as good as weeding the Whipsenade lion, or digging Rishi's new pool

I am sure that clean up crews will have been dispatched by the mayor as soon as he could.

While I believe that everybody should take their rubbish home with them, it is a slightly quaint and old fashioned notion when seeing the fast food wrappers thrown from car windows or flowing over the top of rubbish bins most days of the week.

Seeing people throw litter out of their car window proper winds me up, there is no need for it, just take it home and put it in the wheelie bin ffs.

Reading through this thread it really saddens me that we have some members who simply find it impossible to be positive about absolutely anything. You only need to look at their post history to find that every single post they make is negative or anti everything.

I hope it’s just an online personna. I can’t imagine what it’s like to only express negative opinions and not find happiness in anything at all.

You want the thread to just be full of happy clappy monarchists? This is our country too and this is the perfect thread for discussing the future of this country when it comes to the royals.

Personally I'm very positive about lots of things, I'm a half glass full kind of guy. That doesn't stretch to the direction of this country over the last few years and GD/SC on the forum are for discussing such things are they not?

I think with the SC a lot of the subject matter can be quite heavy so I guess some of it can be quite negative.

There are often extreme stances taken on either side with lines drawn in the sand early on. It does result in a lot of word hurling rather than discussion which can be a bit depressingly monotonous.

Anyway, it's raining here which means the green things can grow so that's at least something positive. :)
Never posted in SC but pop in now and again to instantly regret it(politics bores me to tears anyway), tbh GD is the same with certain subjects, its mostly just circular arguments and like you say word hurling that it becomes more about how someone argued something than what they are actually arguing about. People should be more humble and admit when they are wrong/made a mistake instead of trying to win on the internet.
