Wimbledon 2006 **SPOILERS**

he done well, if he can keep up some consitancy, he will win Wimbledon in years to come. That performance was strong and calculating, I reckon a few years more of the same, also gaining experience he will go far.....

He's got two relatively minor possibilities in the next round. A last 8 appearance this year would be excellent.

Well done to Murray, played excellently against Roddick, who was far from playing his worse tennis :).

Looking at the draw Murray does have a great chance of progressing further. Looks as though it'll be Baghdatis in the next round, who is definitely beatable. It's tempting to look further on, as there's a potential quarter final match against Hewitt that, too, would be interesting :).

what a strange thing to say

It is. I know a lot of people don't agree with what he does and says off-court, but you can't argue with his ability on it. And I'm relatively confident about his chances in the next match. He has just beaten the 3rd seed and plays Baghdatis, the 18th seed next, next; who struggled against Alan Mackin in the first round (although has played better since).

What's he actually said? I've been told he said that he hoped England lost and nothing would make him happier. If that's the case, I really hope it's not, I will definitely be supporting his opponents from now on.

Got it in one :D

Yeah but he never, in fact if you actually watched his game tonight, even after his biggest win of his career he said he was sad to hear England went out, but if thats all you guys need to go against a genuine British talent then thats your call

He didnt really he made a comment tongue in cheek saying he was supporting whoever England played. Innocent comment to a cheeky English reporter no doubt.
Which ended up in a lot of English going on his web site and talking about a murder of primary school children in his home town (Think it may even have been his school at the time) 10 years ago, how mature
And even if he did mean it, it put the noses out of joint in England cos we get:
The English Tim Henman and
The British Andy Murray

Hmmmmm

If he did say he wanted the English to lose, and meant it, why shouldn't the English public repay the favour? They pay their money to go and support him and he's basically said he hates the English. Anyway, I'll reserve judgement until I've heard what he's got to say as it does sound more tounge in cheek than anything.

Where did he suggest he hates the English? As that's quite a bold statement to make when unqualified. Oh, and you do know his girlfriend is English?

Sorry. That is a very bold statement and one that wasn't meant to sound how it probably does. I should've used a more appropriate word but I don't see how him saying he would support any team other than England could be described as anything other than anti English, IF he did say it and meant it. I didn't know his bird was English, she's pretty hot. :)

Such comments as he wants "... anyone but England to win..." have to be taken within context, it is possible he was joking and similarly that he was serious. I personally said that I don't want France to win the WC, does that make me anti-French? I know it doesn't :).

Sadly a lot of people in Scotland do not want England to win, of whom many are actually anti-English in day-to-day life. I don't think Murray is one of them. That kind of attitude would not win him any favours with his girlfriends parents would it now :p.
