WINDOWS 10 FLAWED

Keep getting a odd issue when I quit a game and my desktop is just black, I have to restart explorer to get it back.

Not sure if it's due to 120hz / 144hz refresh rate with games or not even though my desktop is set to run at 120hz.

Win 7 still cant be bothered to upgrade until a dx12 game comes out i want to play. i mean what does a new os do for me other than look a bit different and in this case support a new dx version. i dont need multiple desktops or cortana!

Had a lot of issues until I performed a Windows reset but seems to have cleared everything up.

My thinking as well, if your current system works fine, why bother?

You get a WHOLE year to update, thats like 2 or 3 'service packs'.

Yup. I only very recently even got round to trying Windows 8/8.1 :p Ideally I'd have held out a bit longer and gotten 10 6 months or so after release but my Win7 installer went awol and it's become more and more of a pain to get Win7 free from work.

Yeah i was getting stuttering in some games so went back to 8.1, did some googling and SLI issues were mentioned also SLI memory leaks?

Yea keep getting out of memory crashes even though I have 16GB of ram so maybe its video cards out of memory?

The OP has problems cus of SLI that is why most people are having no problems. Its Nvidia who is flawed but new drivers out now so hopefully its fixed.

Just use the GTA win8.1 drivers untill they sort out the win10 drivers, been playing BF4 and Orcs must die fine for 2 weeks with this driver.

Nvidia dropped the ball on this

Only problem I've hit is with system restore, I couldn't restore a backup I had of my Windows 10 (clean install) after an SSD died. Restore simply couldn't find it despite me moving it onto several other drives to see if it'd pick it up, nothing worked. I've since moved to Macrium Reflect and tested - it works fine.

Gaming wise I've had absolutely no issues BUT I haven't installed anything from Nvidia yet, just left it with whichever drivers MS installed.

Windows works well for me except for one thing. Wjen I turn my pc on my monitor is in standby mode. I have to unplug the power cable and stick it back on for the monitor to work.

Settings > Power & Sleep > Additional Power Settings > Choose what the power button does > Untick the 'Turn on Fast Start-up' box.

You may need to click the 'Change setting that are currently unavailable' link at the top of the panel to access the tick box.
