WINDOWS 10 FLAWED

Got a link? New drivers haven't fixed my problems.

This is the driver im currently using: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/83849/en-uk

Working fine with a 690 in SLi over surround.

Ok... a little update for you guys and hopefully a workaround (at least for BF4 users). You can go ahead and test this with me. I'm running the ASUS DirectCUII 780's in two-way SLi.

1) DDU your machine and make sure automatic driver installation is turned off; DDU will help you with that -> http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

2) Go and download driver 350.12 (GTA V release driver) for Windows 8.1 x64

3) turn off frame limiters and Vsync across the board

4) test

What I got was around 98 to 99 percent utilization on both GPU's. Vram Usage was back to normal values again; Between 2.2 and 2.8 GB @ 3440x1440, Ultra, 2xMSAA. Granted...this needs further testing but things are looking good. If you find that you get stuttering (independent from FPS) check the Vsync SMOOTH option or play around with the frame limiter from RTSS (ships with MSI Afterburner).

Let's keep the feedback alive!

Cheers.

UPDATE #1

above fix seems to be working like a charm. works best with "adaptive" Vsync. I'm back to old performance again :).

FIXED

Apparently it works because its not a WDDM 2.0 driver, this is only a temp work around for the issue untill they fix it in an updated driver, latest one still hasn't fixed it :(

My thinking as well, if your current system works fine, why bother?

You get a WHOLE year to update, thats like 2 or 3 'service packs'.

I downoaded it as I thought you could run the install at a 'later date'. I hit the drop down choice bar and it gave me...
The next 3 days..!
****.. :o

Windows 10 is just like breaking for me to be honest, sometimes I have to restart because for some reason the start menu and everything OS like stops working but I still have access to any open apps but that's about it :(

working fine for me as well. Just ensure you do a clean install on proper drivers instead of letting windows update select for you.

This happens to me as well, left click doesn't work on everything apart from show desktop, taskbar opens but i can't close anything.
Reboot fixes it.

That's probably Windows update killing things Tbh.
Windows 10 has a few issues here and there, but other than the privacy stuff that you should turn off it's a good OS.
On the whole it seems to use system resources better than 7 did.

I'm going to try and get to my parents next week to take the SSD out of their laptop for my desktop, feel like that'll help the speed of things, definitely hope some reliability updates come out quickly though!

I've had a few issues, mostly fixed by doing a reformat and fresh install afterwards (Going from 8.1 to 10).

However, still getting the odd issue, such as IE11 now being broken (meh, using Chrome and Waterfox more now) and more importantly, I cannot get my second screen working in the Supreme Commander games. Really annoying as it was working fine in both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

I upgraded from 7 to 10 this morning, just the upgrade, not a clean install yet it worked near flawlessly and all of my games and programs seem to be just fine, GTA V is definitely improved, a solid 60+ fps where before it was low 50's, it even seems to have cured a micro stuttering issue I've had with FSX for over a year!

No issues with multi screens either, I have FSX running in cockpit view on my main monitor and outside view on my #2 display smoothly and my previous issue of having my BF4 map on screen #2 causing stutter has gone completely.

The only issue was my Creative XF-I card didn't output any sound to start with, after a brief search I disabled then enabled it and the sound was back.

Boots up much faster than 7 and the whole system seems quicker and more responsive.

Even dug out some old old games, a few of which wouldn't work under 7, without any issue.

Pleasantly surprised, I though I'd hate it and be back on 7 by the end of the day, nice to be proved wrong.

Seems like people who went from 8 to 10 are having more issues than those who went from 7 to 10. I did the latter and have no issues.

I upgraded from 7. Numerous issues, including similar to the OP's.

Expecting a clean install to fix most of them. But if any of you guys have upgraded, be prepared for all sorts of crap.

I honestly have never upgraded any version of Windows before. And I only did it this time because MS force you to (before you can clean install). If I wasn't so lazy, I've have clean installed by now :p

...W7 which was showing it's age.

Not on my rig it's not.

I spent one year on 8, few months on 8.1 then rolled back to 7 and couldn't be happier. It's so nice to use a fully ironed out system without tons of little bugs that affect very few people (i.e. OP). This is especially important if you're a little more than an average PC user.

My worry right now is this Windows 10 PC that's replacing my system at work, in an electronics design environment.

Having a horrific stutter in ME3 but it is resolved by alt tabbing out and back in. I haven't done a fresh install yet though, still on the upgrade.

I did the upgrade and had endless problems, since then I've done a full reinstall and it's helped get rid of a lot of the glitches. One thing I would suggest is installing one program at a time after you install windows, and test thoroughly before installing another, this way you can find out which programs are causing the problems. Some programs seem to prevent windows starting up properly and some just don't work, it took me a while to figure out which programs are working, but touch wood it's all running fine now.

To do a fresh install just do the upgrade and choose the option to wipe all your files when it asks.
