WINDOWS 10 FLAWED

I upgraded yesterday, went flawlessly minus one minor issue with my onboard sound, however downloading the drivers from MSI website fixed it straight away.
Even more impressive is that MSI have dedicated W10 drivers for my 6 year old MSI P55-GD80

The only issue was my Creative XF-I card didn't output any sound to start with, after a brief search I disabled then enabled it and the sound was back.

Same for me I find after a reboot no sound so a trip to device manager same method. It will probably take Creative labs a couple of years to sort it out as they are shocking with driver updates and fixes.

They are yes, but there are custom made drivers that work perfectly. The only outstanding issue is that changes made to settings (EQ, CMSS etc) require the PC to be put into sleep, woken up and then rebooted to stick and not revert back to defaults. My XFi Fatal1ty is working fine with W10 now. See here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18684752

You have to upgrade first and activate it then either use the media creation tool or simply copy/burn the ISO onto a DVD or USB and boot. You can also do a "clean" install by telling it not to keep any of your files when you upgrade.

windows 7 x64 pro MSDNAA >> windows 10 pro here, upgraded smoothly and didn't cause me any issues.

I had to re-enter keys for a couple of bits of software, but other than that has been flawless.

I'm running SLI and it seems to work fine, however I have now disabled it as I'm only really playing ARK at the moment, and that doesn't support it either way (dedicated other card to physx)

planning to rebuild my loop for a GPU upgrade (780ti) very soon, so will likely do a fresh re-install then, if only so it feels like a brand new PC :p

you might have a bad cable going to your hd - or hd going bad; usually only time I've seen those errors....nothing to do with win 10.....that's hardware.

Only issue I'm having with Windows 10 is a couple of USB problems. My USB 3.0 pen drive copies at high speed for just a few seconds before dropping from the expected 50mb/s to around 5mb/s. Also when I tried to boot into Linux Mint on a pen drive it freezes after 20 seconds. I think installing Windows 10 fubared the USB 3.0 controller on my laptop somehow!

Well, I tried some more older games last night, Call of Duty MW4 which refused to install and the same for Call of Duty 2 (which I've always loved) thought sod it and rolled - seamlessly - back to Win 7, and guess what? Yup, they don't work on 7 either! :o

Downloaded the 10 update again and upgraded once again, and trouble free too, this time for keeps I think! :p
