Windows 10 Game Mode these results look promising

Can't wait to try this on my i5 750 @ 4GHz. The only game where I am CPU bottlenecked big time is the division (dx 12 has helped massively for this already though) and all those open world ARMA/dayz/miscreated/battlegrounds type of games.

I think you would be surprised by how much that is bottle necking you in virtually all games. My i7 860 at 4.0GHz was under utilised so I too thought it wasn't a problem. I got a 6600k and doubled frame rates in some games, and tripled minimums. I made a thread about it with a good suite of benchmarks.

Yeah no doubt there is some more bottle necking going on especially for min fps but I can play most games with a constant 50+ FPS 90% of the time with the majority of settings turned up (no AA and I generally drop from the ultra preset to very high/high as usually there is little difference in IQ). This is with a 290 @ 2560x1080.

Some games are a complete joke for performance i.e. rise of the tomb raider, no matter what settings I use in dx 11, FPS would barely improve, it is much better with dx 12 but still poor and likewise for ghost recon wildlands, even with everything on low/off, I could barely hold 50FPS and the game looked like it belonged on the PS 2, xbox 360 with everything on low/off (however, it may have improved with all the latest patches)

That intersection in GTAV on the right side of the screenshot is the one place my cpu usage skyrockets and the game stutters - so if this isn't a gimmick and actualy works I'l be very happy.

Oooo, this could be good! I'm still running an i5 3570k overclocked to 4.2Ghz with a 980ti @ 1440p... I wonder if it will drag out the life that bit longer for my CPU.

It's rare I have a problem with running at 60fps max settings, but newer games are starting to push the limits of my system.

I have taken some screenshots of the below area in order to do a before and after (max settings except grass is on high, no MSAA and advanced settings are off apart from high detail while flying).

It is weird how that area drops to those FPS, as pretty much every where else is locked to 60 fps. There are a few areas in Sandy shores that plummet FPS too but not quite as bad. Notice how the GPU usage has dropped too, this is usually at a constant 90+%

Another good game to test this windows 10 game mode out will be assassins creed unity + syndicate.

I've got it, not really noticed much difference as yet, tho I am running a 1070, but my cpu is only 4670k. Bit annoying that you have to set it for every game you play, doesnt do it auto, & I keep forgetting to switch it on on new games (I've just reinstalled)

On the upside you could say I havent noticed any problems yet.
