Windows 10

So far all I have found is that Win 10, hates my previously stable CPU over clock.

I've now reverted to stock to see if it will stop blue screening. Rock solid on win 8.1 before it tho. And passes 8hrs small and large FFT's in Prime 95 (under Win 8.1).

Now 5 mins on the desktop and she blue screens.

Bangs head against wall.

I can only imagine this is some sort of bug. I've done this twice now so I know it isnt a typo. My name has been entered correctly everywhere in windows.

However my user/profile name is set to andre rather than andrew.

Seems I'm not the only one with this issue.

Also driver updates are disabled, and yet I noticed windows went and grabbed new sound drivers form windows update...

Continually getting error 0x80004005 when trying to download and install the latest update via Windows Update. Annoying!

EDIT : nevermind, a clear out of the SoftwareDistribution/Download folder sorted it.

I have issues with 10 after upgrade. The upgrade process itself went smoothly tho.

Monitor will not wake up after S3 sleep. PC itself is awake but no display output over DVI.

Fonts for legacy parts of Windows (control panel, old dialog boxes) are totally screwed. A blurry mess. The new UI parts are crisp and clear, as are fonts within applications.

Had my MSI GX660R since release day (5years or so) and never had any problems with it.

Installed windows 10 and now I'm ready to bin it. Spent last 5 hours trying to fix it to no avail. Seems the windows 10 install did something to my MSI recovery partition as it will not even try load.

Windows 10 was making my laptop seriously overheat so it shuts down within a minute of being on.

Installed a fresh copy of windows 7 (clean .ISO) but it will not activate with my laptops windows key, nore will the windows site except the key as it was registered with MSI or something. Laptop is still overheating.

Wish I never of spotted the bloody free update thing now. Laptop worked perfectly before today...

Upgraded to Win 10. I want to delete my WindowsOld folder but despite having administrator privileges I can't do it. Any help is much appreciated as it's driving me nuts and my google fu hasn't helped.

I'm surprised how well Windows 10 runs on a laptop with mechanical. Its even faster and more fluid than 8.1. Just a shame I keep reaching out for the charms bar from previous 8.1 habits.

It activated by itself more or less instantaneously without me ever seeing it. Unlike most peoples problems.

Love the new clock/calendar format.

No need to reply, I managed to delete using Disk Cleanup

Yeah, a bug. In my clean install of Windows 10 I made my account a local account in order to avoid this issue. You can connect to a Microsoft account once you've logged in.

Reverting back to 7, can't get 10 to accept the key (upgrade from 7 to 10)

Oh well shall order a copy of 10 anyway.

Mate I had this, then it just worked. I remade the iso USB stick. Double check when creating the ISO as when you change country go UK it changed the build back from Pro go Home. So in effect I created a home install not pro

Tried following MSI's instructions here?

I've not made any USB stick.

I did a clean format for the Mrs PC win7 (service packs) and waited for 10 and did the update and installed 10 and a week later no activation still and been doing command prompt commands with no luck.

I get activation server determined the key is blocked.
And it's not changed.

Shall go back to 7 for now.
