Windows 10

I've just formatted again today so just got the latest updates of W10. I have it on an M4 drive, but have an 850 for Apps/Games on. I will let you know if I have any issues, I haven't installed Magic yet though as still getting up and running.

Yeh i dont get it, windows 10 has been running fine till the november update a couple of days ago and now everything seems to be going wrong.. Noticed from your sig you have an 850 evo i do too do you have samsung magic installed? Wondering if that could be causing it.

Scratch that looks like loads of people are having problems after the november update. Think i might reinstall the normal windows 10 and block the update for now.

This crap auto installs as well. :/

Yep it seems it actually does an in place upgrade too. As you have a windows.old file of your windows 10 pre update. bleh gonna go back to 8.1 for a bit i think. The 8.1 start didnt bother me and i think its more stable.

No, I don't think I have that installed. I'm going to see how things go, and if it doesn't improve I'll revert back to Windows 7 for a while. Good luck. :)

Updated my netbook last night and all running fine. Obviously the update is 'under the bonnet' as i cannot see any difference.

Seems the update has messed with my soundcard (XFI Titanium HD) The console launcher is installed but cant find the card, yet the card and audio work fine.

All the drivers on Creative's site won't install. ****ing Creative and their driver support is terrible.

Will see whats up tonight.

I thought I'd try and revert back to Windows 7, but got this message. I know it may sound a bit daft, but what 'exactly' do I need to do?

Looks like you installed SQL or something like that and it made a user account for it to run. It looks like you need to go into accounts and remove the account "postgres" and when asked delete all the files ext that are linked to it.
Be aware it will break your SQL database if you have one!

I found a backup image i made a few days before the big update at the weekend ive gone back to that and now windows 10 is working perfectly again for me. Something in that update screwed everything up!

I've seen it before, though I've not much of an idea what it is. I thought it was something to do with poker software?! :D

Not sure whether to hang on & see if it improves, or revert back. At the moment, all is 'okay'.

Edit : tried reverting back after deleting file. Still won't let me roll back to 7. :/

I had to reinstall windows on my laptop after it "lost" the WiFi card.
Now the sound is playing up on my main rig. Although I've just done a BIOS update so you never know.

Luckily I've got another machine running a 980 as a backup for Star Wars on Thurs/Fri :)

Also noticed after the BIG Windows update the other day. That it re-set all my custom settings in the Nvidia control Panel. Also re-set everything in the Realtech Audio Manager (IE. room correction settings etc.). Bloody annoying!!!

Plus now for some reason Audio CD's are not now recognized by Autoplay! Checked all settings (IE. settings/autoplay, Control Panel/Autoplay and even the registry entries) and all seemed fine. Strange thing is, if you double click MY PC (nothing else) it seems to awaken the CD ROM drive and it kicks off Windows Media Player. Almost like it wakes the CD ROM drive up. So there is a work round, but still rather annoying. Sometimes wonder if Microsoft's updates are actually worth the effort at times. Fix one thing and screws up two others. Life....................

Since the most recent update, I think this is the worst Windows performance I can remember since 98 (1st edition). It chugs along, then moves swiftly, scrambles settings & won't let me roll back. :/

Edit : Yes! I managed to find the last file that needed deleting. Back on Windows 7 HP 64 now. Everything.....just works. :)

A few problems for me with this update looks like I will have to do a clean install again. There is no way windows 10 is ready yet for the masses.

Put the update on yesterday, fired up ED and was greeted by a red screen, then machine rebooted, been fine since though...

Installed the update a couple of days ago on my main PC. Afterwards, the drivers for my network port weren't installed. To be fair, this seemed fair enough as I use a "forced" Qualcomm Atheros driver to avoid having to install the Killer LAN software just to use the network port. Manually pointed Device Manager to the installed appropriate driver, it asked was I sure, clicked yes and all sorted. I also lost my Eyefinity settings in CCC and the speaker setup in Creative Control Panel went back from Stereo to 5.1 - fortunately both less than a minute to fix.

Overall, very smooth update for me and quite happy. I feel for those of you experiencing issues with it, and I'm sure I'll be joining you somewhere along the line when updating one of my other machines! :)

Anyone else getting really bad framerates after the update, rocket league is almost unplayable, project cars frames have dropped right down.

Both were fine before the update.

Seems the recent update has borked all the 8.1 to 10 upgraded laptops at work (in a variety of ways). The newer laptops that came with 10 or ones that were wiped and reinstalled have been fine.

None of my home machines or laptops have had issues, and there all clean installs.
