Has anyone else had a big ugly banner appear at the top of their windows settings page recently? This appeared randomly on my system a few days ago and not even after a windows update.

wife had that ages ago, mine only arrived this week
we have MS accounts, wondered why mine took so much longer to appear than hers.
I'm no wiser as to why.

Well, that's normal. Yours is pretty barren though, i have a link to manage one drive, a link to my microsoft rewards page and something about web browsing as well on mine.

Mine is still the old 2004 and no sign of an update. Version 19041.572.
I guess this "update" only changes one registry figure from 1 to 2 lol hence it takes only 8 seconds lol

Force it just by using the windows upgrade tool.

Yep, posted about it couple of pages back, luckily though, theres a tool you can grab to remove it, if you want to, but it'll probably just come back again at some point knowing ms.

If you do just roll back, worth a shot. Make a USB boot recovery key just in case.
