Windows 10

I'm getting bsods on trying to install kb4592438, well i think it is, as I have downloaded it and get the same result.

Its worked on my older rig but not on the new one.

Anyone any ideas?

No issues with it here on a Ryzen (3700x).

It does have a manual chkdsk issue, can cause a BSOD.

It happens on the update doing a bootup, then I have to boot again which bsods then it repairs on the third one.

Its not a disabling problem, yet anyway but its **** annoying to have to go through that bsod balarky.

Bit puzzled on this in start menu before I upgraded and fresh installed I could right click Chrome and start an incognito tab, since the fresh install the "tasks" option that let me do this refuses to appear, but it still appears fine for Firefox, no idea how to get it to show again for Chrome though

Gave in an did a fresh install to get the new version, was still on 1909.

All running fine but it now wants to install AMD and Realtek drivers..... I don't really want too as everything I've installed is running fine.. Oh well, I guess that's what restore points are for.

Is Hardware-Accelerated GPU scheduling worth enabling?

FFS - changed monitors on my setup - Windows 7 kept my old default sound device (correctly) - booted into 10 and woke everyone up when the login sound blared out the speakers on one of the monitors... instead of using my pre-configured AE-5 and headphones...

******* imbeciles. What is so hard about getting the basics right when developing an OS.

EDIT: Has anyone actually found a way to prevent Windows 10 doing this automatic switching sound device (I'm sure I set something as default just for LOLs and not because I actually want it to be default) when a new one is connected and/or driver updates? as this is going to mean I can't use Windows 10 at night with the current behaviour and my current setup which is just stupid and Googling it only gets stupid answers from MS about how to set the default sound device totally missing the point of the question (why does that not surprise me).

Zero day exploit fixed in June = Nope!

It is amusing how people get their knickers in a twist over security and Windows 7 and pushing 10 like it is some paragon of security - but stuff like this is constantly coming out the woodwork - and if they really care that much then they really need to be moving off 10 never mind 7 for anything online.

The sound problem on that aspect isn't Microsoft's. Sadly and it always has been a Creative issue.

Happens even without any Creative devices in the mix - put a new sound device in and/or drivers change and it picks whichever one initialised last regardless of what is set as default - it is basically Windows 10 "trying" to be helpful but even an idiot should be able to see the issues with it.

There are 100s of people asking how to solve it - but every reply seems to be people who just trigger on key words (especially the MS official helpers) and explain how to change the default sound device - it is hilarious and tragic.

Trouble is Joe public would also be peed off if they plugged their new monitor in with built in speakers and had no sound, you can't win lol.
