Windows 10

Ah, so you could do it, but its beneith you to actually try.

Oh by the way, have I mentioned I'm a better driver than Schumacher, but I'm too busy painting my kitchen to prove it. It's definitely true though, I've got loads of years experience with cars.

Nothing to do with being beneath me - I don't have a lot of time though these days despite posting here a lot for instance I've spent the day building this:

I don't have a lot of my older projects readily to hand here - I'll quickly link this as its already uploaded:

Some of the back end scripts and code:

(EDIT: For any actual perl developers looking at the pulse file... sorry - it was the first time I'd ever touched the language)

Its not much - very simple webmin customisation - but those with actual development experience will be able to verify that I atleast have some experience even from that.

Thinking about installing Windows 10 Insider 10130 on my main desktop for everyday use, good idea ?

Anyone else using 10130 for everyday stuff ?

Anything I should be aware of ?

Thanks

Yep, been using Previews on my main gaming PC for ages. Drivers have now caught up and its been absolutely fine.

Earlier today, someone in this thread wrote that build 10154 is being officially released tomorrow, so Ben_UK, you might want to wait for that.

But having said that, installing off USB is so quick, you could have a play <20mins after starting 10130 install and then rinse/repeat sometime tomorrow. ;)

Thanks from me also to those who have mentioned this.

It is just what I have been waiting for, before 'taking the plunge' as it wouldn't surprise me if that is the last one before RTM.

But, Microsoft are going to release build 10154 ISO here tomorrow around 6pm UK time: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/preview-iso

I just installed the preview for the first time a couple of days ago (version 10130). Will Windows automatically download and update to build 10154?

Also another question. Am I right in thinking that as long as my microsoft account is linked to the preview builds, I will be able to update the preview builds into the final retail version and continue to receive updates as part of the insider program?

10154 build looks better

im guessing this build will be very close to RTM.. because they need to get it shiped to OEM partners so they can get it installed on laptops/pcs/tables and sent out to retailers in time for the 29th july. unless they will be doing that at a later date..

I think the 29th is just the in place upgrade isnt it? OEMs arent expecting to ship with W10 pre installed for a few more months yet.

Not that it's an issue as every machine with 8.1 on would get upgrades anyway.

it seems we are getting it the same time (29th) as OEM's but it'll take them afew mouth to gets things ready to ship systems with pre installed windows 10.

The 29th is effectively what used to be RTM (release to manufacturing) when it got released to OEMs so they could prepare OS images for retail release, then a few days later to MSDN and Volume License customers.
