Windows 10

I didn't run the Proxy installer as Admin so it wasn't picking up the file. Sorted that now.

But it flickers up the TileCreator app before launching the game, which is really annoying :(

Theres a really easy fix for it, but you need to make sure your taskbar isn't transparent. What i did was drag my tilecreator app right into the corner where the clock/time is so i could only see the tiniest bit, once there you can use Win + Up/Down to minimize/maximize, make sure its minimized once you've finished adding tiles, then when you open a tile, you won't ever see tile creator. When you want to add new tiles, open it (it will be minimized) then just press Win + Up to bring it up, then WIn + Down to hide it again.

Pretty easy..

Here's how mine looks;

(The quality may not be that great, never messed about with OBS settings, but you'll see what i mean anyway.)

Really enjoying Windows 10 now, I have worked out all the bugs I had and pretty much everything is working smoothly now, I doubt I'll go back to Windows 7. I really like the Search bar on the bottom left, very convenient.

One thing though, I keep getting this when launching the app store

Hi everyone.
Thanks for the help so far.

Another quick question - when installing a "full" copy of Windows from the ISO, what product key do you use?

I downloaded the ISO copy from the FAQ thread and created a boot USB drive while at work today. Have just installed it on my home PC, so I'm back up and running to an extent - I'm just copying over the documents and stuff I want to keep from the primary HDD, then I'm going to format and do a complete fresh Windows install again.

However, during the install, it asked me for product key...I clicked "skip this step" and carried on, but will I need to enter one at some point to prove I received a free upgrade? Does it know via my user account?

As far as I'm aware if you have upgraded a machine that was already activated and entitled to free update, then you can re-install fresh and it will auto activate as it's tied to the motherboard? don't quote me on that I'm not 100%.

Hi mate,

No you will not have to enter a key at all as your device ID will be logged on the MS servers (provided said device was updated to windows 10 first) and will auto activate.

I hope this helps.

Brilliant, it does indeed, thanks!

I'm going to do a format of the primary HDD and reinstall a fresh copy then. Thanks very much :)

Move taskbar to the left hand side, makes so much more sense on the left side on a tablet. Can reach everything with your thumb then.

not sure if anyone else has any problems with the windows mail app but mine just locks up as soon as I open it?

Working great here, is windows activated?

Is there anyone in here that doesn't have the Windows 10 update yet? I have it installed on one of my PCs but not the other? Is there any way I can force it?

Right click on .jpg > Open With > Choose Another App > Select Windows Photo Viewer > Tick Always use this app to open .jpg files > Click Ok.

Exactly as every recent version of Windows worked?

Have to say, I'm having the same problem as Kefan. I can't find the Windows Photo Viewer via Choose Another App.

If I go to the Default programs, it's there, but only seems to allow me to set it as the default app for opening two types of files - .tif and .tiff.

I'll do some more digging when I get home tonight but it doesn't seem like this is an uncommon complaint. I prefer the simplicity of WPV as opposed to the Photo app so would like to revert to it.

Right, one of my machines isn't ready for the upgrade and although I registered my interest, I still need to wait a bit longer. I keep getting prompted though and although I have nearly 40 Windows 7 and Office 13 updates that need installing, every time I try Windows tries to install the 10 upgrade! - even when it is unselected (now hidden) from the list...

Any ideas?
