Windows 10

A quick question earlier on in the Week I found a Windows 10 Service disable (Privacy Protector?) I am unsure of the name, but do you guys have any idea what I am talking about lol?

Think it was in relation to what data was sent etc...

LTSB is a keeper, no background APPS that I will never use, no APPS pre installed, no EDGE browser. Comes junk free !

Long Term Servicing Branch. No feature updates at Microsofts whim and companies get more control over rolling out updates.

Less preloaded crap as well. No Edge, IE 11 is the default browser.

So boomstick - you running a dodgy KMS server or what? ;)

Ha, LTSB doesn't use KMS. So you can't activate that way.

However.. Lol, you can use MS toolkit to activate it. You know to test it out. Windows 10 is free this year anyway :D No harm no foul.

I honestly think LTSB is essential if you want Windows 10, no crap features / pre installed junk. More control over updates etc.

It's really nice OS to be fair. I'll be keeping this one.

To be honest I've not looked at it yet. I'll have to at some point, one of the managers at work is getting all moist about Windows 10.

Yeah if it's for work, LTSB even more essential.

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB builds on Windows 10 Pro adding premium features designed to address the needs of large and mid-size organizations (including large academic institutions), such as advanced protection against modern security threats, full flexibility of OS deployment, updating and support options; as well as comprehensive device and app management and control capabilities.

The LTSB edition provides customers with access to the Long Term Servicing Branch as a deployment option for their mission critical devices and environments.

We've got an MS Partner agreement at work that I could use for testing this, but I'd rather not use it for any length of time as my personal OS.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure what that means mate? What is a VL license?

Here's my info:

Are you saying it will deactivate at some point?

Sure LTSB Enterprise is supported for 10 years?

Confused lol.

I think a VL License corresponds to a Volume License for big companies I guess.

I think where I work has one, but we are not running Windows 10 (We are looking into it) but I think once we have moved the VL license will be applicable.

I think to get a legit license, you need to be a MSDN member or have a company VL license I guess.
