Windows 10

I have a windows 8.1 key, upgraded to windows 10

If I install a new SSD driver and want to put the OS on that, how do I go about doing it? I'd want to do a clean install - Can I just download the windows 10 iso and use my windows 8.1 key

Well today I couldn't log on. Stuck on "Welcome" with the circle going round and round after entering PIN. After few reboots and cursing it then started doing the setup like I had just installed Windows 10. Setting up your apps, getting things ready, it's taking longer than expected etc. Finally got to Windows and my Start menu was all jumbled up. Much fun.

As long as you are currently activated you can do a clean install from the downloadable ISO / USB media creator then when you install skip the part where is asks for a product key. It will automatically active over the internet.

So have got this right before I click "Get Windows10"

I'm currently running Windows7 Home premium. So it will "upgrade" me to Windows10 and that should activate the product. Following that if I want to do a clean install (say I fit a new SSD) then I can install from an ISO and it will activate as the full product?

Is this the ISO?

Yes, that is the right link.

You should ensure that your Windows 7 as already shown as being 'Activated' first though, as that will then be carried through to Windows 10.

Well after giving it a few months I decided to upgrade my gaming rig over the weekend something I have yet to achieve due to the downloadable ISO / USB media creator keeps stopping due to missing files error thinking may be file corruption had a few more go’s at downloading still no joy. I will give it a second go next weekend.

If you enable to Trust settings I'll email you a link to the ISO on my Google Drive.

Has anyone as yet witnessed the "get updates from and send updates to" feature work on a local network yet?

Even though I have Windows 10 machines on the network, it still pulls them across the internet.

Am I being stupid or is there actually no functionality in the mail app to do the following:
Navigate to a subfolder in this sort of layout:
Inbox-Online Purchase - Overclockers - MM

I can reach overclockers but not MM...

And you cant create new folders in the mail app?

Damn lol

If I am on the insider program is there an easy way to move the install to a new ssd? Do I have to reinstall from source media and then enable insider updates post install? Will it work?

Why not just clone your current install to the new ssd, and job done. You could use Macrium reflect free edition to do this - or use your own favourite cloning software.
