Windows 10

run the disk cleanup program, one of the options in there is to remove previous windows installations, it'll warn you that you wont be able to roll back to your previous install but thats kinda to be expected...

just run, cleanmgr...

I'm on 14257 and even though 14267 is out, no matter how often I Check for Updates my PC keeps telling me its up do date :(. I'm in the fast ring and have had no issues getting builds before :(.

Is there any way to force the latest Insider Build to be picked up?

I've converted the esd to iso if nay good?

Found an ISO online and used that. Its US so I'm just installing the GB language pack now, but first impressions are everything has gone fine.

Don't know why it was refusing to pick up any new builds?

Sometimes they push insider builds/features to specific groups of users initially.

EDIT: Looks like it might have got pulled for some users due to a start up issue.

I had it appear on one pc but not my other so forced it with the iso from esd file of the first pc..

My main PC has suddenly decided that sometimes it will just display the "Shutting Down..." message and will not turn off, I have tried changing the power settings to no avail. Any ideas on how to fix it? (Without a reformat/dropping back to Windows 7?)

How long has it been like this?

On one or two updates my machine has sat there for nigh on an HOUR like that! It scared me!

Any recent hardware changes?

No, which is why I am puzzled.

Issue started last week, but it does not do it all the time. It's very odd, I imagine it's a Windows Update that caused the issue as that's all that changed. Event Viewer does not help. :(

Oh! I thought this was a one off :(

I assume you've left it for a good few hours to make sure it's not just doing something?

Mines been doing that since the start (clean install of Win10).

Most times it will shart down or restart OK. But maybe 1/7 times it will just say "Restarting" (etc) forever. No hdd activity, just sits on that screen and never does anything.

Hard off required. Am on insider fast track, same issue with all the new builds too.

Never happened on Win7.

Never get an answer in the faq thread so Im asking here: Is it possible to do a straight clean install using Win7 key on a new ssd without first doing the upgrade on current Win7 HDD install?
