Windows 7 Experience Index

Thanks everyone for posting your results ;-)

It has indeed been helpful for me at least (and I hope everyone else).

I can see that my Q6600@ 3.6 seems to be underperforming, scoring lower than other peoples @3.2 even with the same memory score.

I wonder if it is my multiplier etc that is causing the bottleneck?.

As I've had it clocked like this for over a year now I don't think I will be tinkering with it much; as It seems to run fast enough for me.. Even better now it's on Windows 7 ;-)

Oh go on then maybe some small tweaks !

Edit <LOL> As I was having touble during the install (Dodgy DVD burn) I has reset everything back to standard clocks.

I've now reset back to OC setting and I get

7.4 for Processor (3.6 OC) vs 7.1 (2.4 default)

Memory remains the same. (I will update my original post)

Scoring is very messed up when a 4850 scores higher than a 4870x2 in gaming, unless the 8gig of ram comes into play.
A single AAKS drive that is not even single platter being faster than 2* single platter drives of the same model AAKS.
Something is very wrong.
Not that I'm bitter.

32bit on my Laptop

Processor : 4.0 (AMD TL50)
Memory : 5.2 (2GB PC5300)
Graphics : 3.2 (6150GO)
Gaming : 3.0
Primary HD : 2.0 (120GB 5400rpm)

Only real surprise is the hard drive, I know it's only a laptop hard drive, but it scored a lot higher in Vista.

Processor: 5.9
Memory: 5.9
Graphics: 7.9
Video Graphics: 6.8
Primary HDD: 5.4

The very first time I ran it, the HDD was actually 2.4, and thus my overall index. I defragged, and it went up to 5.4. I strongly recommend defragging!

Processor: 6.3 (My £45 CPU never fails to make me smile :))
Memory: 5.9
Graphics: 7.9
Video Graphics: 5.9
Primary HDD: 2.9

Glad to see I am not the only one with a low HD score :p

Out of interest, the guys with the low HD scores, are you dual booting?

I have installed Windows7 on a 60 gig partition at the end of my Primary drive. The first 170 gig or so is my XP system. I wonder if that is a factor.
