Windows 7

But that would allow one rogue user to muck up the entire program for all the other users of that PC. By like going into the advanced settings screen of the program and setting them to broken values or something...

You're not thinking of the bigger picture.

I'm not really sure how that relates to my post?

Have they lowered the spec of Readyboost compatible devices?
As i was surprised when using a usb stick to transfer files to the pc that it gave.and is running, the readyboost function
On the vista pc it says the speed is too slow:confused:

Is Windows 7 the final name or are they going to change it at a later date i.e. Longhorn -> Vista

It's the final product name.

does anyone know how to remove internet explorer 8 from windows7?

Not sure why you'd want to, but when the product is on general release no doubt a *lite product will allow you to customise/slipstream your install.

Can someone please tell me where/if I can get the current Windows 7 beta. I have seen it as a torrent but I'm assuming this is not a legal copy?

I tried signing up to Microsoft Connect but it just loaded for a good 20 minutes, so I closed it.

Any help would be amazing!!

You won't be able to get it through the connect program until the proper beta's and RC's start next year - it's just for developers at the moment.

I just ran the experience index, I only got 6.0 :(

that's a good thing imo..

vista's score needs to be updated to reflect these too

it's daft that my q6600, 8800gt and single hard drive max out the 5.9 score

i reckon they should put all the specs way higher than what you can currently buy

so the I7's overclocked still don't max it out
