Windows 8 Consumer Preview Thread

Hi guys, just got a machine built using i3 and integrated graphics and a friend loaded consumer preview windows 8 I'm using a 19" Samsung TFT panel and noticed that fonts are blurry and give me a head ache, is there a solution for this or is this because it's not the final version? I don't believe it's drivers as I've searche google and there's been a few complaints, downloaded Firefox and its still the same.

Any ideas?

Desktop stuf should be the same, metro doesn't use clear type and uses grey scale something or the other. Apprently clear type does not work well wove moving text.

However with high res displays this shouldn't be to noticeable. Win8 is meant to be ran at 1366x768 but ideally 1920x1080 and above.

New computers/tablets with win8 should have high res screens.

If the issue is in normal desktop.
If you go to control panel > displays > cleartype settings, you can change the setting, basically a few screens you pick what looks best on your monitor.

I've had a play with the clear type settings and it didn't change anything, the current resolution is 1200, it's especially noticeable when browsing and on windows explorer etc, so a better monitor will resolve this? I'm
Thinking bout going back to win7 if it's permanent

Does anyone else get jumpy video if they have a video playing on monitor A while playing a full screen game on monitor B? Not sure if its just games or other full screen apps.

Not sure how true, but a friend of mine says most Operating Systems these days monitor installs. Mac included. Think its just a new feature, In all honesty I can imagine it helping. If all Coders signed their code and got it whitelisted, there would be a lot less malware free to do damage.

Although I suppose it could hurt piracy and cracks

So I need to buy a better monitor?

A higher ppi will certainly help.

I have rolled back to windows 7 now. Until updated drivers come out. My network connection keeps resetting and loads of applications keep shutting down/resetting with event error #100.

Be use emits programs won't off got it signed of by Ms.

It's a good feature and should. Be left on. Just need either a statement from ms with more details or a small patch. I expect the first and the latter. mS defending themselfs but a patch anyway.
