Perhaps the OP could edit the first post with the absolute essential drivers (Ie ati/nvidia win8 beta drivers) And perhaps 2-3 other working essentials. Just a suggestion :)

ah, see my music is on an external drive. I have right clicked and added it to library, but its not showing up :( so importing it into media centre, see if that kicks it into action

EDIT : yup adding to media centre seems to of done it :) or maybe it just took a while after adding it to library. either way, its working :)

To be honest. Iv tested all the apps i essentially need (which is very few) and its all golden here. Quite liking this windows version. The metro navigation isnt what it could be. I want to keep the "start" zone on my far left same as the start button always was. But the hot icon things on the right side of my right screen (dual screen setup) however this appears to be impossible at this time. :/

Sad to see ultramon rendered useless lol. Good bit of software that was.

Cant wait for My RMA replacement crucial M4 (replacing an old M225) will be fun to see what windows is like on that! just 2-3 days now :D
 
If you want rid of the Metro Interface, here's a registry fix.
Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer
Find: RPEnabled
Modify it by changing the 1 to a 0.

I used this fix on the developer preview, though it also removes the new Task Manager. :/

What's the point, if your going to do that, stick with windows 7.

Absolutely pointless.
