Ditto, I went through the feedback form in the help menu somewhere or on the messenger site and reported this. Although, I do think I may have sent the feedback via the wrong channel seeing it is the beta and not a full public release.
Maybe they are trying to bump up the number of hits/users to the msn site this month/quarter lol
I dunno about faster, seems the same on my PC. It does however ask to install Windows Device central when WLM9 loads up which is annoying as I don’t want or need this…
Is there a mod/patch to remove the advertising at the bottom of the Messenger? Will this Mess Patch work for the latest Beta of Messenger?
I really want to get rid of this stuff on it. The search bar at the top is a waste of space (i've never used it once). Then you've got 'learn about customer experience improvement program' text which is pointless and a bunch of icons I use once every month or so, which should have an option to hide them.
I had Miranda skinned to perfection but the lack of general msn options and very fiddly menus were annoying
Also just installed this, it looks deadly IMO, makes a change, things are swapped about a good bit, about time if you ask me, messenger always released new ones but they were always very similar, this one is a decent attempt of a facelift.
I do actually like the new msn especially the the nudge. It is actually not that bad to be nudged now instead of the large annoying sound that puts msn on top of any window you have open.
I'm guessing that seeing as this is only the beta, that is the reason you only have Available, Busy, Away and Appear Offine as your status. Rarely use any of the others but it was a nice option to have them.

I suspect they got rid of the others because they were fairly pointless. Be Right Back was probably the only useful one; In A Call and Out To Lunch are covered by Busy and Away respectively anyway, so they're no loss.
