Windows SMP Beta goes Open

I had a blank password and had to change it to something to get it to work, the core dies if you use a blank password.

Yes I know I have password enabled my account.... does it matter if I have used a capital and its alphanumeric??

Hmm. I guess the deadlines are going to be too tight to run on non-Dual Core hardware (i.e. P4s), especially if they're saying to turn HT off. Given how badly my P4 boxen are doing at the current non-SMP WUs, I guess that doesn't surprise me, but it's a shame. :(

Oh well, I'll stick with VMWare until there's a 32-bit Linux client then.

Am I to assume that the Windows SMP client installs exactly the same way as all the other clients? If so I could add an SMP Windows section to the guide. Although I think that might be a bit redundant since the stickies have more than enough information on installing Windows Console clients.

Have you tried rebooting after install .netv2... if you have could you post your latest fahlog entries so we can see exactly what is happening.

nope as it has to store a password (encrypted in reg) and a blank one gives it issues.
use your admin account and just give that a password.
if you're on vista read this
