Windows Store Games won't have VSync, SLI/CrossFire, Fullscreen or Modding

I am surprised people are so quick to even consider windows store as a delivery platform for games after the awful GFWL carry on.

Yep, Uninstall it through Ccleaner, It's what I've done along with uninstalling all apps that come pre-installed such as weather etc....

What about things like Windows 10 installing updates willy nilly and uninstalling anything that it deems "not in line with Microsoft's vision of how you must use your PC"?

Have they dealt with those yet?

Not that it really matters, I'm fine on Ubuntu with Vulkan thanks. ;)

(although I would recommend AMD owners approach Linux gaming with caution for the moment)

Just another attack on PC gamers by the megacorps in the long protracted attempt to kill us off.

They don't like us, we are demanding and vocal and nitpick everything, they want to sell half-arsed facebook-tier non-games to the mass market for mass profit and have that be the new "gaming".

Win 10 has been hassle free for me. I didn't like 8.1 but 10's great. Certainly no worse than 7 which was better than Vista and so on.
Me too, I use 7/8.1 and 10 on a daily basis and 10 is my favourite, though 7 is fine to. I hate 8 though, hitting the windows key and getting shoved into the fullscreen Metro thing is horrible.

I am assuming this is about getting people to use the Windows Store, which anyone with sense avoids. And since it's Microsoft the politics meant that exceptions could not be made to store policy and they had to mess the game up instead. Usual MS cack-handedness basically.

I can actually imagine the devs rolling their eye's when told they had to create a Universal App build target :)

Quite shocked in Microsoft here tbh..
Here one for you guys though directx 12 Multi-GPU is ment to be very different from directx 11..
Lets look at mantle here and crossfire windowed mode that worked perfectly fine so they is still a very good chance dx12 windowed mode will be fine.

Locked frame and mods though they making a big mistake here.

Yes shankly, this doesn't effect at all to multigpu under dx12. But only dx11 games, though even that, it's too much.

They are really shooting at their own feet here.

I have said it a thousand times and i will say it again, Microsoft don't like PC Gamers, they see us as a threat to their Console cash-cow.

They have been trying to hold back PC Gaming evolution with their junk DX API's and now that failed they are trying to monopolise where the games come from so they can gimp them in that way.

I love the way Microsoft is heading really. Doing wonders for us PC gamers and I was so looking forward to Quantum Break and didn't care that it was a Windows Store exclusive. **** microsoft!!!

Let all hope Vulkan API kicks off and sends us all much better PC ports...

Agreed. I don't mind admitting that I was really hyped for DX12 and seeing a few exclusives on the Windows store was cool for me but after reading up a bit and finding out what is what and how Microsoft really don't give a **** about PC gamers (they clearly don't), I am very very disappointed. Not often I will cut my nose off to spite my face but Quantum Break was a must for me but unless microsoft take a big U-Turn with the store, I will not be getting it or any app/game through them.

I won't be buying any game through the windows store out of sheer principal.

I Hated having origin , uplay , games for winblows and steam all installed, I just use steam now as that has the most supported games and is easy to use even though I have 5 games installed on uplay it's not installed so I won't play them.

Really, with lets say a 4tb hard drive being available for under £100, having a few clients that are what 100MB each or something, that take a few seconds to load, you hate it?

There used to be this time where every game was just installed by itself, where you click on a .exe for that game, be it on the desktop or put all the shortcuts neatly in their own folder on the desktop or on start menu somewhere.

Now you open Steam and click on a game then press a button to play it, or you open Original, click on a game and press a button to play it. Convenience is great but people act like if a game isn't in steam it takes 10 times longer for a game to open and it's just absurd.
