Uh, this thread is over a year old .

On the other hand, I had to set up some W7 PCs at work recently, ran the updater, and it instantly finds a new version of Windows update which afterwards updates the PC completely fine by itself, so I guess Microsoft fixed it.

I wonder if windows update will be magically fixed after the free offer for 10 runs out at the end of next month? Assuming it's not extended...
